Before we all go insane from constantly reading the Operation Get Tippett thread. I thought I'd bring up a different style of thread. For a moment, put your recruiting hat on and have a look at 2012 delistee's from other clubs. Which ones would you consider bringing to the Lions and why?

If you had to give out a second shot, who would you give it to?

This is the current list of delisted players & a little bio. I will update the list as players become available.

As a junior, played as an inside midfielder, good clearance player who had an ability to bring teammates into the game and a good turn of pace. Was compared to Ballantyne in terms of pace & tackling inside the f50.
Michael Mascoulis - 19yo 186cm. 2011 Rookie Draft, Pick 15. From Northern Knights (Vic). Left footed medium forward/wingman who breaks the lines and uses the ball well on either foot. Good evasive skills.

You'd think GC might have 1 or 2 that could be tempted to stay in QLD.

Sportsnewsfirst fwiw have listed some Collingwood rookies that have been given the chop. They also speculate that Aaron Edwards, Ben McKinley and Gavin Urquart will get the chop at North.

Urquart would be a given, since last year the Roos tried to chop him before deciding it was more cost effective to keep him on their list as a rookie for his contract to run out.

Richmond - Addam Maric, Andrew Browne, Daniel Connors, Jerome Webberly, Dean MacDonald, Piva Wright (R), Gibson Turner (R)

Jerome Webberly could be worth a pot. He's a Tassie boy (we like those right?) and not too old (25 next season). Do we need another rebounding defender? A back-up playing in reserves but then I guess we really want those with starting 22 potential.

Carlton - Jordan Russell, Bret Thornton, Paul Bower, Rohan Kerr, Nick Heyne*, Matthew Lodge**, Blake Bray**.

* Rookie listed
** NSW scholarship player

Carlton - Jordan Russell, Bret Thornton, Rohan Kerr, Nick Heyne, Matthew Lodge and Blake Bray and apparently Paul Bower has been told he isn't wanted there.

Curse you Jenks :D

I like Andrew Hooper I would rookie list him. Plently of grunt in him

If Casboult isn't a required player under Mick I wouldn't mind the Lions picking him up cheap.

A friend of mine told me Mick doesnt want him at the blues if Mick coaches carlton next year. Would give Levi Casboult a nice offer. Rather him than Tippet would be very much better if we got him than Tippett in the long run IMO

Too vertically challenged for AFL (Zorko is 3cm's taller). Would make a good AFL standard defender but is too short, and doesn't have the weapons to play elsewhere on the ground.

Nothing great on the list yet, but plenty of time between now and drafting

Worth getting a physicological test on Connors. He is an elite talent who may just need to reach the age of 24 before he is settled.

Did we do one on Fev before we rushed him into our den? Thanks, but no thanks. I'd love to have another ranga on the team but Connors has had too many chances. We don't need players with that kind of baggage. Make him somebody else's problem

Dont have to go far - Redland in NEAFL

Scott Clouston...improved out of sight since first played at Lions..big strong mark..booming kick...as a mature age bloke would be worth a crack.
