It would be nice between the 3 head honchos at our club they could actually explain it. Our media performances are diabolicalMaybe he means it won't take us over the soft cap
Not that it won't count under it

We certainly don't have a good media performer within the entire organisationIt would be nice between the 3 head honchos at our club they could actually explain it. Our media performances are diabolical
Matthew Clarke is decent I reckonWe certainly don't have a good media performer within the entire organisation
All either:
Weird voices
Dumb
Got nothing to say
Or a combo
Apologies to Ogilvie. He's interesting to listen to. Godden ok. Saunders good.

No insight. Vanilla thoughts.
You can say that and you'd be very wrong though.
Reliably go deep in finals and you are a good coach as you've effectively done everything in your power to win a flag. There is an unfortunately large element of luck to winning a finals series though with the right people staying healthy to the ball bouncing the right way that can act as a difference.
Lyon is the poster boy for good but unlucky coach. Much like Blight was before coming here.
Luck definitely plays a part, but that's not to take anything away from Clarkson's achievements.Wrong says you. Last I checked you were not the messiah of right and wrong.
Luck has nothing to do with it, are you saying Clarkson only won his flags because he got lucky. fu** me, he is the best coach because he can adapt, get the best from the squad he has. Something Ross dreams of.
Blight is a good coach, a great coach. Lyon would love to be compared to him but sadly history will prove me right and you completely ******* wrong.
Weird how the luck always goes against us.Luck definitely plays a part, but that's not to take anything away from Clarkson's achievements.
If Roo doesn't get suspended in R23 then we probably win the flag in 2005.
If Roo doesn't get parvovirus, McLeod's foot doesn't get infected, or Biglands doesn't break his leg before half-time in the Preliminary Final then we probably win the flag in 2006.
If Hawthorn don't hand-pick the umpires, then we win the 2012 Preliminary Final and play Sydney for the premiership.
None of those are coaching issues - they're all dumb luck.

Sometimes when your hitting your head up against a brick wall the best option is to walk away. That may mean foregoing a payout but your get out of an environment that you dont want to be in....and yes making that decision is easier if you have a sizeable amount of money behind you. May seem stupid to people like you or me, who dont have a shit load of money behind us but not so for Pikey.Surely he's been approached by the Dockers since Lyon was given the boot. I know he's quite well off financially either way, but you don't just walk away from a few million without a contingency plan...
There are no lingering issues from Don Pyke resigning. There are no lingering issues from Don Pyke getting sacked.
We all see the statement differently. "There is no payment required under the guidlines". This I am sure is correct however it dosnt mean that there will be no payment. The operative word is "required". So that could mean no we are arn't going to give you anything or it could mean we dont have to give you anything but here is some money to help you move.Chapman has a history of bending the truth. He says "there is no payment required under the guidelines".
He does not say "there will be no payment". There is a clear difference. Just because he 'resigned', something I'm sure we helped him with, means that technically we don't have to pay him. That doesn't mean we haven't come to an agreement though.
Why the ambiguity in everyone of his answers around this? Because he knows that if it comes out that we are paying him out in a deal of some kind, the decision of the management to re-contract Pyke (and Sanderson) before then having to pay them out, will cause more questions about the management of the club. It's a deliberate mistruth.
Unfortunate but true.Any coach that would make that demand won't be hired

You and some of your mates told me that in 2016 when I mentioned we had the list to compete for a Flag in the next couple of Years, Called me all sorts of a Flog, So forgive me If I don't take your comment seriously
The Crows have a good Core Group with the right coach and SUPPORT, few key replacements and a Team pushing in the same direction the Crows should be back pushing for a Flag in 2021+
Go and watch the Game on Sunday and then tell me if you don't see a future. Our Best SANFL players are the Kids Play a few of them and watch this space,
I’ve been really disappointed by the complete silence from all the players on social media. Whatever has happened over the last two years, Pyke took us to a grand final. At least acknowledge that he’s gone.
St Kilda lost all their ruckman in 97Weird how the luck always goes against us.

Don't get this attitude
Who would it serve? If the players have anything to say to Pyke re: farewells, that's between them
I hate the look at me twitter bulls**t 'oh look how much I care I'm gonna tell them (and everybody else) how much it means to me' -- same with eulogies etc when someone dies (though I'll concede some may find it good for grieving, but still..)
fu** off
And North's kicking for goal in the 98 GF!!St Kilda lost all their ruckman in 97
West AdelaideExactly. And given the history of Chapman you can see why many of us will think the ambiguity was deliberate. We all see the statement differently. I'd imagine his contract would have a standard clause to pay for accrued leave etc.So Roo has said there will be a payment but not under the soft cap, how is that possible?
The night the text message went out to Adelaide players inviting them to Don Pyke’s for pizza after the horror loss to Carlton, a group of them were out together when it came through.
The gathering at Pyke’s the following day had been prearranged for coaches and their families but at the last minute it was decided to include the players as well after the demoralising loss to the Blues.
And the sentiment among that particular group of players when their phones went off was “it’s too late”.
“Have fun, work hard and let’s enjoy the journey for however long it goes,” Pyke said in March.
They responded with a win over Sydney at the SCG but a fortnight later at 1-3 after a 12-point loss to 17th-ranked North Melbourne there were some home truths in a frank discussion behind closed doors in the rooms at Marvel Stadium. Some players accepted the feedback, others didn’t.
Pyke welcomed the club’s external review when it was announced a day later and believed he would be taking the team forward when its findings were handed down.
However something significantly changed in the past two weeks, if not the last two days, leading up to his resignation.
Fagan told Pyke to take some time to think through his decision and importantly, take the emotion out of it, and if he decided to stay then what would his plan look like going forward.
Some sources have told The Advertiser they believed communication was Pyke’s downfall, but others say it wasn’t an issue at all and if you speak to enough people you’ll find someone upset with someone about something at West Lakes.
But if some players wanted more communication from their senior coach, were they insecure? Vulnerable? Did they need an arm around them?
And what level of responsibility does the playing group take for their performances which has led to a man widely regarded as a good coach and a good character walking away with two years to run on his deal?
