Open to debate I suppose but I think div 2 south comp is stronger than the North comp. And Carrara will be a contender this year so no surprises there, they have been strong for a few years now. Probably all the ex pat Vic's on the Gold Coast lifting the standard [emoji3]

Yeah I think the top end of Div 2 south is certainly better than North

I think they are morons to be honest Longy. All involved have been very dishonest and behaved appalling. They have 3 junior teams and a girls U15’s and a mixed U13’s team. Be interesting once the kids reach senior ages of the committee people they will just leave and be interesting to see how it ends.

I noticed yesterday they still pot shotting Pirates on a Yarrabilba Community site.

I’m sure most junior clubs dealing with them are seeing what sort of people they are. AFLQ keep giving them concessions which doesn’t help. I think they won a very low level Division U15 Girls Premiership last year and majority of side was U17’s. That stuff doesn’t help anyone.
🤣😂🤣

The Pirates had every opportunity to play at Everleigh. They couldn't afford it apparently. Not being able to sell grog may have impacted that. As far as being dishonest and appalling behaviour... Pirates should invest in a mirror.
I wish them the best of luck down at Yarrabilba.

Don't know any senior club that could survive without a bar! What a ludicrous idea. That only supports the absurdity of it all.
Taking away the club name is enough on its own, and then the ability to support the costs of the senior program!

Doesn't really answer any of the allegations that were put forward.
Every opportunity but under what conditions.
So must be more than you're willing to share.

I wonder how the bar is going with a couple of junior teams.
Not many on the beers at 10am.

True. The Battle is easier if you look after the juniors and make them want to stay at your Club. A lot cheaper also.
Juniors is a user pays system that has minimal other costs. Just shows how delusional you are.So how do you raise the $23K to pay the league for fees, then the $50K rent the juniors wanted the seniors to contribute if they moved to Everleigh, then Trainers, Jumpers, etc etc . To run a senior football program for just basic 2 sides is in excess of $80-$100K.

So we had to find $150K to play at Everleigh under the lunatic junior committee who also wanted to control what sponsors we had. Wasn’t even a consideration.

Seeing you think you know everything, how much work did you put into obtaining Everleigh?

Why would they have to pay to play at a facility they identified and sourced?

When did I say I knew everything? But I know a fair bit. I didn't put any effort into obtaining Everleigh. How much Effort have you put into the juniors at Park ridge pirates since your son moved on? Kids kicking with footballs that Kevin Bartlett was probably using when he started kicking a ball... cry on the radio or go to the newspapers but the Karma bus in on you. Neglect the kids for your personal weekend piss up.. how was the Collingwood v brisbane corporate box ? Club funded?

I don't know everything but he started a club from scratch.
Got juniors then seniors.
Put a lot of time into the Everleigh project.
Raised money though multiple sponsors.
Put his hand in his own pocket at times to help the club.
Spent a lot of years as president I'm guessing over ten years.
So his boy moved on not to another club but to high levels.
I reckon his efforts stack up.
But don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.
And I'm from a rival club.

The juniors are paying for it. The Pirates couldn't afford to pay half apparently.

Sometimes people lose passion for the whole Club and concentrate on what is good for them and fair enough. I cant knock the really early years by any means. Juniors obviously wasn't a priority anymore.

How much does it cost to keep a local kid playing into the senior/reserve squad? Time and effort? Or we could get Dane Swan to come play 1 game I guess...

I'd also add that the 15s/17s girls team with over aged players was actually the under 13's mixed team with all players in the correct age group. Something the Greenbank Giants are really proud of. We are for the kids to play football. 👍

Not doubting your passion for the juniors. You obviously have kid(s) there and having a crack. However speaking from personal experience here that what you’ll find is your personal interest will move with your kid(s) too. Firstly out of juniors, and then out of youth. However right now it’s your focus, and rightly so. But I’d also say that to expect someone else to go back over old ground and cover everything juniors is a bit unrealistic and probably a little self centred.

Good luck to your junior club. Maybe you can do the hard yards & build your own youth into a senior club down the track like what happened at the Pirates several years before you.

Are you having a go at them for getting swanny to play a game.
Clubs have been doing this for decades and to my knowledge no-one ended up in the red doing it.
They don't just show up to play there are functions as well.
Should be more of it local footy.

I appreciate the feedback and that's what we are trying to implement at the club. A succession plan for future parents/coaches to continue the growth of our club but more importantly afl in Queensland. My young fella and myself have been involved with both clubs for over 8 years. It was time to move on for the juniors.

Who did Swanny play for in the afl? Asking for a friend. When you're the president life can be good. I'd love to see Juddy play...
