I think we are gonna see a good battle for finals spots and personally I'm predicting a good percentage will be even more valuable than usual.

Surely the answer is having a Div 1 North & Div 1 South so to allow the lower Div 2 teams to grow
Couldn’t disagree more..zillmere have put up results similar to this ever since they came in to Div 2
As much as it sucks for them these huge scores have been kicked against them since they’ve come in

Okay, what the answer?
I think zillmere have to either get better to be competitive or drop back which seems incredibly harsh..in saying that thought Gympie has been almost as equally as terrible for the majority of the time they’ve been in this division so they do deserve some leeway
However Gympie seems to have improved a lot this year as have a few of the bottom teams
So no real answer unfortunately..just have to let time do its thing imo

Points (1) & (3) maybe but for (2) Div 2 North is lowest Saturday division, but you are saying that there is a minimum standard level.
How do you administer that? Plus what happens to the players from the Ressies?

Being competitive is one of the pillars required for a licence. Having numbers is an important aspect of that. Any side reliant on permits each and every week is not meeting the basics required of a licence.
There’s a couple of options to manage it.

Until the league brings in a lower grade Saturday comp, Div 2 will always have such a discrepancy in the standards of teams.
You can't have a go at teams trying to make Saturday football, they needed to be given a few years to establish themselves again. In saying that, the teams need to be judged better to determine if they can actually be of benefit to the Saturday comp.
Makes you realise the effort of clubs like Pine Rivers who played finals first year out of Fridays, and look to be heading that way again this year.

Div 2 should be one comp with Div 3 Single team Saturday and div 4 Friday
I'm sure Carrara v Redcliffe and bond V Alex makes much better sense than the lower teams in both comps getting flogged by over 100pts ...let the lower teams bat on in Div 3 and maybe with reserves? Thoughts
