So which end is the essendon cheer squad sitting ?

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

Will depend on weather and MCC turnout.

Nice night, no rain, not too cold, might just get to 90k.

With live coverages, shit weather tends to keep a few on their couch instead.

No chance. Two reasons.
1. Essendon have about 25,000 annual reserved seat holders. At any match there is only about 80% of them there. Therefore, there will be 6,000 empty seats in the EFC members seats area.
2. Plenty of seats vacant in the AFL members as Richmond don't have a large AFL membership following so this reserve will be somewhat short of capacity.

Last year this wasn't GA. As a result, a huge walk up arrived and they allowed the overflow of these walk ups to fill the AFL reserve. This now can't happen this year as there is no walk ups.

As a result of the above, 78 - 81,000 I think is the best guess.

It's interesting the AFL have had abit to say having a go at the mcc in recent years about empty bays in the mcc when the rest of the ground is sold out, lets see there reaction when the AFL members is scattered with empty seats while the rest of the ground is full on Saturday.

The mcc have done there bit and given up 4 bays to the general public, why don't the AFL do the same and give up a few of the afl members seats that definitely won't be filled.

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

Richmond don't draw and are not big 4.

No way they could sell out the MCG during the season with any other club after winning only two games on the trot.

Hawthorn are big 4 and I'm sure they've sold out the MCG, Richmond are no longer big 4.

Hawthorn have more supporters than Richmond, the Tigers are so far behind the big 3 it's not funny.

Richmond and Melbourne should merge and make the Melbourne Tigers.

Every supporter there will don the red and black.

So... resale system... my seat didn’t re-sell for the WCE game, wasn’t it basically a sell-out?

Has anyone had success with this system or is it just window dressing?

Just for various reasons I haven’t been able to get a few games this year, and my seat is yet to re-sell. I understand the lack of demand for the Brisbane and Port games.

Has anyone actually re-sold a seat?

I guess this goes in here...

I was thinking earlier about how we're going this year etc, and say we do win the flag, would Fletch be the oldest player in a premiership winning team ever?

Tuck would have his measure i'd say.

Re: 'Questions that don't warrant a thread' Thread - *Ticket questions and random discussion in here

again, in reference to my earlier question: why wasn't there a crowd closer to 90,000 even though all week they said it was going to get "soldout"?

1. I don't think the AFL Members was sold out

2. Reserved seat holders not showing up

3. MCC Members

Those three factors would be more than 10k I reckon.

Re: 'Questions that don't warrant a thread' Thread - *Ticket questions and random discussion in here

AFL members was never sold out, the back section of all bays were avaliable but even in the front rows there was empty seats there everywhere. The monthly presales they have dont work for big games. People log in and buy tickets for $6, 2 months in advance of the game and couldnt care if they dont end up going or not Also looked like a lot of seats where season ticket holders would sit were empty.

My seats were empty, as I was in the corporate box getting blotto!

Re: 'Questions that don't warrant a thread' Thread - *Ticket questions and random discussion in here

I'm planning on going to the Ess vs WB game, and it'll be my first Essendon game down in Melb. I'll be flying down, and I'm hoping it'll be a good game!

I'm wondering, though, how packed will Etihad be? AFL games up here in QLD never have the atmosphere that the Melb games have, so please tell me it'll be a good one!

Also, as someone who's never been to Etihad, would you recommend paying extra for level 2 seats, or stick with level 3?

Cheers!

Nose-bleeds are fine for me.

($12 vs 40odd though for concession - big difference)

There's no bad seats at Etihad. Level 3 (at least the first ~10-15 rows) is pretty good, but level 2's better.

If I can give you one piece of advice, I would strongly suggest you ring them up or go into an outlet though, the on-line booking system is absolute rubbish at finding "best available".

Yeah, Level 3 at Etihad is fine. My reserved seat is behind the goals on Level 3, and that does me just fine.

Top level at the MCG on the other hand...

Re: 'Questions that don't warrant a thread' Thread - *Ticket questions and random discussion in here

Great! Thanks for the help!

Do you think there will be many people there? I'm assuming so, because it's a Bombers home game. Regardless, Brisbane is shocking for AFL attendance now, so 25,000 is usually a most you'll see in the Gabba. Anything more than 30,000 will be impressive for me!

Re: 'Questions that don't warrant a thread' Thread - *Ticket questions and random discussion in here

Probably around the 40,000 mark. If the Dogs are still going okay, perhaps a little higher.
