Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

Thanks mate, I will have a crack. Didn't even think to look at whose home game. I do have away rights though ye.]s.

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

Will depend on weather and MCC turnout.

Nice night, no rain, not too cold, might just get to 90k.

With live coverages, shit weather tends to keep a few on their couch instead.

Shower or two clearing. Top of 18 during the day.

I would hope many of the Bomber faithful make it a full-on footy day and start with Collingwood v Bendigo at 1pm out at Victoria Park!!!!

From what the Ess website says, you won't get in unless you have a reserved seat or have upgraded to one.

Pazza - Going to Vic Park sounds like a good idea, espescially with Gumby and probably Pears and Myers playing. I should go.

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

well thats a load of crap i plan on stranding anyway! and now i have to pay for 2 tickets i already have and not even use it...

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

Thanks boys, one final question well curious statement actually. Just purchased many tickets and it looks as though I am sitting in MCC upper deck. Just curious as to how they do this and does it happen often they open it to general public.

There's a bit that they open up - not all of it. 3 bays maybe? And it's only when MCC don't expect members' to sell out.

Should be decent seats.

And they normally only open them up when it's going to be close to capacity.

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

Can AFL members just walk up and walk in? Same with MCC?

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

They left that change a bit late.

Thanks for the heads up.

I would suggest the surge of interest in the game after the weekends results would give them no other option.

I would expect a crowd in the order of 83,000.

I bought tix this morning which had the pax at 75,000. No idea how that factors in the walk up for the mcc or afl members.

I got a text from Essendon about an hour ago which said there would be no General Admission available on the night.

I'd suggest the crowd could go into the mid to high 80s.

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

The last time a H/A game match other than Anzac Day drew more than 90k was way back in 2000, when we played Carlton late in the year.

So I'd wager you'd be right on that one.

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

Outdraw the GF replay = job done.

Which we should. Don't Geelong typically struggle with Friday nights?

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

Friday night in town is a bit of pain in the arse for those who live and work in Geelong, definitely would impact the crowd. And like with every other factor live coverage just adds to it.

Will be a bit left in AFL members for walk-up i’d say. Easy to upgrade for $6 though.

The MCC sometimes hand a bay or two on the top level over to GA. I didn’t think it happened much for Essendon games though cos I think we have a fair number of MCC members. Still it won’t be full, never is except for GFs.

Re: Dreamtime at the G - Ticket sales update

Well, they have to commute, the poor parochial sods. Difficult on a Friday night when you clock off at 5, I guess.

EDIT: Yes, BM sums it up nicely.
