Hi, this may seem like a weird question but does anyone know anything about Franklin's upper right central incisor and why it is a different colour?

I'm pretty sure that was the tooth that got knocked out in his 100th game down at Aurora. They found it later and they put it back in I think, maybe it went through some discolouring while it was out?

That's what I thought too. Plus he's been tweeting about dental work lately so I think he's getting it fixed (mind you I do have trouble deciphering Buddy's tweets so I could be off beam there).

Yup that seems about right. When a tooth darkens like Buddy's has it's usually due to trauma of some sort that made it non vital (fractures involving the root, avulsion, subluxation, etc). According to his Twitter he's getting it checked out by a dentist at the moment.

Because the tooth avulsed (fell out) he'll probably look at getting the space filled prosthodontically (3-unit bridge, implant with PFM crown or similar, I don't think Buddy would go the cheap option).

Note: I probably have a VERY unhealthy obsession with the teeth of Hawthorn players so sorry if I go a bit overboard

i know by a tweet he had some dental work on his teeth maybe tooth might be white next time we see it ??

How do you think a hot spot (thermal camera) cam would work in the decision review system, I personally think it would add a huge improvement to a flawed system. I'm surprised the silly's in charge don't already use it.

What is the deal with the new strip and the tag/ label turning up at the collar? See it several times in just about every game. Is it something to do with the tracking device players wear, or is it just a massive tag on those things?
Would bug the hell outta me, but apart from that, the players look like d!*kheads.

Strike me lucky if it turns out to be some new fashion statement, but does anyone know?

It's been bugging me too! I wonder if the bulkiness of the GPS thingy means the label works it's way out all the time, that's all I could think of

My wife wants to know why all the bods are smooth. What happened to the hairy Lethals and Dippers etc. All the boys seem to have no body hair visible whatsoever. Is there some advantage or is it pure vanity? Who does the waxing the club or the boys attend to it themselves?

Ps.... I am a hairy man in a waxed world.

I think it's up. He signed a one year extension last year and assuming he'll continue that til he retires like Mitch and Hodge.

Cheers Nick, yeah wasnt sure...My gut instinct tells me he'll retire if we win the flag this year...Would be a real shame...Definitely one of my favourite players...Always stands up in the big games...Would love to see him play 100 games for us, if only for us to have equal dibs on his 2 boys under the father/son rule with Port Adelaide.

My understanding of the thermal cameras is that they can only effectively work when focused on a small area (ie. like a wicket). They'd likely need multiple cameras (could be up around a dozen of them) behind the goals focused at a whole lot of different points up the insides of the goal posts. A very expensive and complicated set up to implement at all the different grounds.

If we win the premiership this year then I think he might call it a day and hang up the boots. If we don't then I think he might give it another year. Will probably come down to how his body, in particular his knees, are holding up.

Would love for him to notch up the big 100 for us. Has been pretty durable with 16, 24 & 24 games in his 3 seasons with the club.

Yeah for a guy who came to the club with a significant injury he has been very durable. For totally selfish reasons I would like him to play 100 games for us and be a premiership player. That way we will have a chance of him being remembered as a Hawk (oh and we would have won a premiership!). But if we are lucky enough to win it this year then I wouldn't begrudge him retiring.

The 100 would be great just from the F/S pick perspective alone. Would be great to see him go on, especially if it were to go back-to-back. I just get the feeling he might be one, similar to a previous wearer of the #9 that would be content to end his story with a flag. That's just the feeling I get from him for some reason. Hopefully he will play on regardless as he brings so much skill and composure and he's the kind of player who can just stand up in a tough match and do the hard things to get us over the line (eg. round 22 last year).

mentioned it on one of those sunday shows that he does 1 yr contracts and has done since day 1 of coming to hawthorn
