Funny you should say that, I heard him interviewed on the radio today and apparently all the coaches at Adelaide shaved their heads as a bit of a joke to cheer up Dean Bailey who is undergoing cancer treatment at the moment. Gave him a good laugh apparently

I just wanted to say "no" to the proposed-new-merger-with-Melbourne thread, because I thought it was hilarious!

The story of Melbourne and Hawthorn is a really interesting and curious one, in my opinion. It seems our fates as clubs are somehow intertwined. Hawthorn basically ended the Melbourne era with its premiership in 1961 (helping to edge Melbourne out of the finals in the process). Melbourne had a parting shot by winning the 1964 grand final - the end of the Melbourne era.

Later, Hawthorn pipped them in the 1987 prelim with a goal after the siren, and absolutely spanked them in the 1988 grand final. Ironically, Melbourne ended Hawthorn's streak for grand final appearances in a row by beating us in the 1990 elimination final. Then Hawthorn had a parting shot by winning the 1991 grand final - the end of the Hawthorn era.

Then the snuffed merger attempt in 1996, with that bitter merger game which Hawthorn won by a point. Then both teams ending at the bottom of the ladder the following year!

The years following that were mixed for both clubs, but Melbourne was the first of the two to reach a grand final, getting whumped by Essendon in 2000. The next year Hawthorn narrowly missed a grand final berth - to Essendon!

Following that, Hawthorn slumped, and Melbourne made a number of finals appearances. A decade later, Hawthorn have two more premierships and are the team to beat, while Melbourne is a basket case!

Yeah, he's absolute BS when it comes to telling the media anything. I found Sanderson's interview much more interesting and refreshing. He actually gives interesting angles on where he's taking the Crows.

No they don't count. We won't see Lakey until round 4 unfortunately.
