Good question. Timing between matches seems to make most sense. A day makes a difference in recovery.

Are players as sore after match sim training though? I remember reading Talia's diary where he says that on day 2 of recovery he doesn't even bother moving laterally in kick/run throughs. If the ball is a metre or so from him he just keeps running. It'd be a fair effort to replicate that kind of soreness.
