Waite was the only multiple goal scorer last night from both teams. It was that scrappy.
Watching Brown and Putriy shank the unshankables, pretty much leaves the idea of the triple pronged tall towers forward line in tatters.

If Waite is unavailable for any reason, North lose that match to literally any team, Except maybe Essendon.

Yes, I'm quite sure Waites replacement would stand there and do nothing, meanwhile the game would play out in the exact same manner with no ripple effect.

Do you have a replacement for Waite, without throwing someone like Tarrant forward? No. Waite is clearly Norths' best forward (why is Petrie still playing?) and at times only forward. Reminds me a lot of last season with Franklin being literally our only forward. Look how that turned out with 4 or 5 of our best players missing the finals.

Wood would come in if one of talls was injured. Petrie still plays because he takes the best defender and brings the ball to ground for our small forwards despite getting triple teamed repeatedly.

Roby, give CC back his login.

In case you haven't noticed Roby, with Petrie and Brown gaining the majority of attention from the defenders, it is letting Waite off the leash. IF they concentrate on Waite then someone else gets the lollies that week. However, feel free to provide bad analysis about our woeful game plan.

Either way, the Squiggle (all hail to thee) rates us, and that is pretty cool in my book.

Tom Boyd gives us a tall option that can at least bring the ball to ground. He makes a huge difference to our forward structure. Last night Stringer was literally our tallest forward, which really showed.

Don't forget Crameri as well. Who is great overhead and makes a big difference to our forward structure as well.

Yeah, I don't really think it would've mattered, the way or defence shut your forward line down. Neither have any real presence. Boyd may have helped a little but Thompson and Tarrant were marking/spoiling everything.

You've lost the plot if you're calling North one dimensional. The reason we are the highest scoring team in the competition alongside Adelaide this year, is because we've got so many options. Very hard to cover them all. Watch some football. Even another Swans supporter pointed out that the Swans are far more one dimensional. North has almost everyone covered for sharing the load.

Bloke has literally zero clue. Even the sh*t commentary team showed footage of Petrie taking three defenders out of the contest on many occasions to bring the ball to ground. Very important to our structure.

Squiggle predicting a pretty nifty finals series at the moment.
North Melbourne would feel pretty stiff if they finished on the same number of wins as the Minor Premiers but came in 5th.

No clue? Waite saved the tas game. Harvey and brown bagged goals in the end, but it was Waite dragging them over the line. Even Goldy chimed in with goals but was smashed in the ruck and pretty much all over the ground by Gawn.

Waite's doing what he's paid to do, no doubt, but he's as important to North as Franklin is to the Swans. Swans struggle without Franklin and it's right to suggest that North will struggle without Waite.

I'd like to see North play against a defence that has equally sized players, since Spud Firrito and Thompson aren't even making the pass mark this season.

Petrie takes 3 defenders and is a great target CHF, but is possibly one of the worst set shots in the AFL at the momentm. I'd put Cloke ahead of him and that's saying something.

Pretty easy to jag marks and bag goals when your key defender is a good 3-4 inches shorter and up to 10kg lighter, and he's no massive campaigner either.

I'm interested to see how North goes on Geelong this year we have a pretty tall backline so i doubt Norths height will bother us

Have you blacked out recent history?

It feels to me like the Squiggle is overrating West Coast. I think they're one of the lesser finals contenders, unlikely to play more than one final.
All our tougher games are in the first half of the year. I reckon we'll win most of our last half games and finish high enough for a home final or maybe even the lower half of the top 4, which will get us further than the first week!

North are well balanced across the field, neither poor or excellent in any position, just hard working with a smattering of elite ability.

Their performances recently haven't been indicative of a team on the edge of a premiership. If anything they resemble Freo later last season, or Swans 2013/2015, Geelong 2014, Collingwood 2012; doing barely enough to achieve a pass mark.

They've been lucky this season, but will it be a case of the Eagles last year when everything went right and they caught everyone on the hop, or are they genuine? Midfield routinely gets smashed and will be torn to shreds against better teams. North have done well against undersized forwards, and beat Adelaide, but I can't see them doing that against every power forward.

Dogs don't butcher the ball for the entire game, they win it by 7+ goals.
