Galveston Texas police department is coming under fire after an image was leaked - showing mounted police officers marching a black man down the street by a rope.
The Black man in this case was suspected of trespassing. The police handcuffed him, tied a rope to his handcuffs like an animal and marched him down the street.
According to the Galveston Texas police department the officers did this because there was no transportation unit available at the time.

Weinstein does a pretty good job in summarising how both far right and far leftist elements use identity politics to generate tribalism. Not merely a 'culture war', but something more sinister.

I am a big fan of the band, but am I the only one that thinks this sounds a little too generic?

In a way I agree but in another I dont, great to have some new Tool, fans have been waiting some years for it, it may take a few listens to fully appreciate the new tracks. I think from the 9:00 minute mark to the build up of the 9:27 mark on wards in "Invincible" is epic however.

I'll wait for the album to be released before making any further judgement.

They're still around (the Huey boys) and in some sort of feud with the New Black Panther Party because the NBPP is pretty anti white, segregationist and not really nice. The HPNGC came to my attention a few years ago when they started openly patrolling black neighbourhoods with assault rifles as a deterrent to the cops shooting people!!! At one point a predominantly white Texan open carry group said they were gonna do the same thing (uninvited as well) and the HPN fellas said "No thanks youse aren't welcome." There was talk about a stand off between them but it never eventuated.

Its an interesting but unrecognised factoid that the US Gun Control movement actually gained alot more support after Black Americans started openly carrying weapons and invoking the second amendment. Back around the time of the original Black Panthers.

Whenever someone uses the term intersectionality, I tend to think of that piss-take journal article, where academics like Pluckrose and Lindsay re-wrote a section of Mein Kampf as a take on intersectional feminism and then were able to publish it in a leading academic journal.

There was an interesting moment in the documentary 'hoaxed'. It was brought to the attention of a black panther party that the media had spun some stories to create more controversy. Was very much a "ah ha" moment because the leader of the group was unaware and said it was one of the key reasons why tensions had grown.

Again, highlighting the US communist manifesto and how they approach the "negro question" - make sure the divide continues to exist.
