Watch them. They are really important.

I seriously acknowledge adaptation, especially when it comes to short circuiting government policy that crosses the libertarian boundary, but if there's no cash, then there's no independent control of money.

The shrinking of the cash pool is going to commence in January, and it will wind down from there.

Goods & services will be the new independent currency.

Funny enough I do a bit of cashies. Not the type discussed in this thread, but off the books cashies. Some of my clients just rather pay cash. Usually older people or people who like paying cash because they can get a discount (or at least think they can).

Mate. The backyard was full of it. I nearly told the boys to knock of and come back when they’d cleaned it up. The owner got his son to pick it up because it’s apparently his dog. There was a good months worth there....

Fair enough.
I only said it cos i've just spent the morniong telling my daughter to look where she is walking. But she helped me repair a barbed wire fence so she's doing ok.

You can get 1 dollar per egg if its organic and completely free range - ie they live in a paddock. If you want I'll try and find some designs that have been used around here and a few I've helped build over the years, if they are still around. At least one should be. Pretty similar to what you are talking about. The soil here is fu**en great too. Stuff jumps out of the ground.

But that egg price is dependent on this inflated economy. People who pay that are earning good money on the coast and can afford to pay that much. Its like that river cottage guy. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is his name. Bangs on about organics and stuff but poorer people in the cities just can't afford that sort of food. I've seen organic garlic for 50 bucks a kilo in markets around here. 25 is a good farm gate type price.

Rabbits are a pest and attract predators around here. Requires alot of infrastructure to keep them secure. Just over the border there are serious fines for growing rabbits. Tens of thousands of dollars. Patrols and stuff.

1) I'm talking about self sustainable eating, not commerce.
2) Meat rabbits (N.Z. whites, etc.)

Any rabbits. I do have friends who breed them for meat. But its a pita from what i've seen. Also round here there are big snakes and goannas and they hunt chooks, rabbits and rodents quite voraciously. Its just one of those things about what you're prepared to put energy into and what works for individuals tho.

Gardening is good. Self sustainable food is too. Get into permaculture. There's a bit of bullshit involved but its easy to sort thru the crap if you think critically. Its been around long enough that there are good local sources of info on what works and what doesn't even in cities. Might have to put up with SJWs tho. My attitude is to grow what you need first but there's always surplusses if you do it right. I have access to good soil, keep seeds and have the knowledge I need and always have something turning over in the garden, but its easy to get lazy round here where everyone grows food all the time and gives it away as well.

Its very satisfying to walk into the garden and pick yourself a feed (or eat animals you've hunted or fished youyrself as well.) Its a way to be responsible for and in control of your own survival.

I sometimes feel bad for people in the cities. Its harder to do at that stuff. Still possible tho. My parents grew 80 - 90% of their vegetable consumption out of suburban backyards in Melbourne. My mum's parents survived the depression in Tassie where everyone gardens and dad grew up on a farm in Fiji where probably 90 to 100% of their food was grown at home. So they naturally grew food and spent as much time as they could in their gardens. Most people my age with a suburban background had no idea about any of that stuff - surviving hard times and providing your own food and for your family even in a suburb on a quarter acre block.

Anyone across the fairly new drill rap scene? Started in Chicago and is spreading like wild fire

Yeah, bit too dickheads showboating about guns and knives for me.

Some of the LDN drill is good.

Also worth noting that parts of Chicago are a genuine war zone. The kids a born into gangs. Not surprised their life and music is about murder, they’re surrounded by it. Some areas they can’t even leave their block, and some never have.

While the majority of people have been calling cryptocurrencies "ponzis" (in fairness a lot have - especially during the ICO craze) they haven't done the research to realise that some of these are the next wave. After all 2008 was the reason Bitcoin was created in the first place.

Quantum computing stuff is another scare tactic. Yes it is coming but not that quickly (stuck on the massive cooling power needed last I read). It is likely that a number of cryptocurrencies will just fork to quantum-proof cryptography algorithm should the need arise. IOTA is one that is doing plenty of research in that space. It's likely that the tech will evolve along with it and adjust accordingly.

A decentralised currency with no borders is the way forward. P2P. Not the abomination Facebook and co. tried to start with Libra.

Just shut down my own genuine free range egg farm. Most folk are happy to pay $6 a dozen @ 700g We sold 800g @ $7.50 and 900g @ $9. People are happy to buy trays at a time, but there are plenty of folk who scoff at the price

Yeah but what I like about Dave is he talks about that stuff, but doesn't glorify or play to it.

That said some of the great hip hop of all time is about that stuff and by people who were shot and shot at.

Agree, THEY are too late to lock down money.

People just need to start taking things into their own hands. Even in crypto people are lazy and don't research. Not your keys, not your crypto. First thing people do is leave it with a third party...gets hacked = lose money. People want support. It's P2P for a reason. Once user-friendliness improves people will jump on board. A ways to go but it's a lot better then relying on banks. Bitcoin always gets thrown under a bus with the "drugs and tax evasion etc." - well what's the excuse of those that launder money in the banking and political sector. Public ledger.

It's scares the shit out of the old establishment because soon enough they won't have control (already questionable with large mining farms in China and Bitcoin) but alternatives are coming with updated technology.

.....and just how the **** does one "quantum-proof " something?

It's scares the s**t out of the old establishment because soon enough they won't have control (already questionable with large mining farms in China and Bitcoin) but alternatives are coming with updated technology.

You're missing the point.

Technical libertarian cleverness does not allow you to step outside of a world wide economic collapse.

quantum-proof cryptography algorithm. This isn't something new. A number of cryptocurrency projects have been discussing it for some time. Opting to go with battle-tested instead of an experimental quantum-proof cryptography algorithm. It's folly to think that one area will improve and others won't develop along with it or adapt. Again, Quantum could be a long time away.

Of course it doesn't. But it could potentially safeguard you. No one knows what will happen because there are no patterns. Will people pull out of the stock market and move to the crypto market. Or will it get crushed too?! Will people look at silver and gold...

Harder to manipulate decentralised currencies. Still relatively early days but in the future, it will be even harder especially if adoption improves.

It’s pretty simple really, if eating vegan gave optimal physical output, every top athlete would take it up and every dietitian would recommend it to athletes wanting to get to the peak physical condition
