Calls fake news, uses a picture of an accident from months ago and two other indeterminate location pics, top right most likely not even in France judging the shall we say mise en scene.

A Gilets Jaunes pic would have been more effective but even those are months past.

4/10.

Do better next time.
Well, you're wrong. And lining up on the side of the paedophiles.
I'd listen to you if you didn't resort to Vox-like smear tactics to get your point across (response to Tas regarding Pell). :$

Who said the images had to be at the same time? France has been a mess for well over a year now. After all the bullshit they've had to endure he's the last person that should be throwing stones. He should get his house in order first before projecting and getting his merry band of famous people to retweet his fake nonsense.

The images are from France. That point wasn't the key issue - you focussing on that is akin to picking out a spelling mistake and declaring victory. The key issue is spreading fake news. Which is exactly what he did and exactly what Leo, Ronaldo, and co. all decided to spread. So every social media dweeb could retweet and all of sudden express just how distressing this event is to them...despite having only just heard about it for the first time. I'm sure bars, restaurants, and dining rooms were all dominated by all the caring! 24 hours later the topic of discussion will move back to the next issue they all "care" about.

That said Groin guru - the Amazon burns every summer.
No shit. But we all care this year okay! Don't ruin this for us all. So many people yesterday looked at their instagram and said "wow...look.at.how.caring.groin.is...such a big-hearted guy!" :drunk:

Using pics out of context is a key example of fake news.

And Tas is lining up with the paedo.

Macron is not using the Amazon as distraction from France's problems, having dealt with the gilets jaunes he's actually in recovery, he's doing it to distract from the fact that he's joined up with Trump to push for Putin's Russia to be readmitted to the G7.

Which it should be, the hysterical screeching over Ukraine that got it kicked out was a key reason why Clinton couldn't be president.

But Trump is so toxic in Europe that even agreeing with him on sensible measures is not publicly acceptable.

It wasn't out of context though. My point was he should be one of the last people to throw stones. He had a horrible year. The pics highlighted this point. Frace was (and still is in parts) a mess. So no there is no out of context there.

Where and when was the top right one taken?

So the whole thing about using the fires to clear land for farming because the government lost a court battle with the indigenous inhabitants is fake news?

They use firer to clear land for farming every year - and they tend to just shoot the indigenous inhabitants.

By that logic Trump shouldn't comment on anywhere while there's mass shootings all the time.

He shouldn't. Like Macron he gets criticised when he does. Does he not? Not sure that's relevant but obviously you're going down the route of me suggesting it's okay for Trump and not for Macron :$ Clear as day. Obviously, it's not okay for anyone, not even Taylor Garner :$

It'd be less of an issue if Macron was spreading legitimate news. But 1) his house isn't in order 2) he was wrong.

Someone on the Media Board posted it was garbage last night

??

Considering watching it again. The sound design was excellent, soundtrack great, pitt excellent. Story is great.

I saw it Friday and really liked it. Very quirky, but that's Tarantino. Pitt was certainly excellent, and Di Caprio every bit as good.
Really hope Pitt gets acknowledged for his role. He's played some excellent character roles.

Had a look at his imdb. Really a decade of nothing. 2007-2011 he was on fire - the assassination of jesse james, burn after reading, inglourious basterds, tree of life, moneyball. He's not really a lead in any of those but I think he's great in all of them.

That’s even worse. I thought it was just a Bolsonaro thing

Deliberately set fires to clear land for farming - both cattle, and crops to feed cattle - has been happening for decades in the Amazon. The problem with Bolsonaro is that he's relaxed environmental policies on deforestation. He's reversing previous ground gained, actively encouraging the exploitation of the Amazon, denigrating critics of it, and denying man-made climate change. It's no wonder Trump likes him.

Anyways, whatever NASA pictures Groin posted, the fires are reported to be up by 85% over previous years since Bolsonaro came into power 8 months ago.

Also, Groin guru, the percentage of oxygen is a bit moot, don't you think? There is a clear link between the health of the Amazon and the health of the planet. It's not just producing oxygen, it's carbon sequestration as well. Rainforests store 25 % of the world's carbon too ( about 140 billion metric tons). Releasing that through deforestation is clearly a bad idea.

As the Amazon is deforested and degraded it loses its ability to regenerate and protect itself. It's a centuries-old forest and it will take centuries to rebuild, even with reforestation. Between our rain forests, our coral reefs, and ocean acidification, arguing percentages is a waste of time. We haven't got time. And leaders like Bolsanoro are just losing us more ground.

Bolsonaro is very similar to Trump. See his social media stuff. Behaving like a mean girl in high school 5493F84A-42F7-4B03-821B-65CE6092D4F1.jpeg
