Harry Kewell relieved of his duties at Oldham. Lower mid table and safe from relegation imo. Home form lacking but away for ok, seems to have spoken out of turn to the owner and has been shown the door. Not like our Harry to speak his mind 🙃

I am sick to death of seeing these dumb royals in the media all the time. 100 year old white people are racist... no shit. They are almost old enough to remember slavery. You mean this group of inbred white people who selectively bred amongst themselves for thousands of years might have regressive opinions. Whoa, really?

I suggest your choice of media needs some critical analysis.

What if it was Will?

How to manage personal crisis the Jordan Peterson way - get absolutely royally hammered on benzos for years.

Racism is a product of ignorance, indoctrination and intolerance. I am sure all the royals have been educated in the importance of being politically correct when it comes to public appearance.

As for Will, a lot will depend on if he grew up with people of colour in his life, be it school or whatever. There is probably a reason why the royals want to bypass the mildly progressive Charles to inherit the throne and go to Will.

To me, it would be more newsworthy if a royal is not racist, like whatshisname that married whatshername and gave enough of a shit to abandon the royal family for her.

I’ll probably regret sharing this but, Benzodiazepines are a mother****er. They give you your life back but tolerance builds quickly and before you know it it takes 3X the dose you needed at the start. I’ve had my battles with them myself. Not long ago I went cold turkey off 4mg ~ 6mg per day (I started on .5mg when first started, apparently I have a high tolerance) of alprazolam because my script ran out early, my psychiatrist refused to give me another script early. I lasted about 3 weeks thinking it was going to get better then I just couldn’t take it. It was late on a Sunday night and I honestly couldn’t keep it in anymore...my wife picked up that something was going on because of the way I was acting. I was struggling. Fearing the seizures that can get people who go cold turkey off Xanax. My legs and arms were numb...it was ****ed. I took something to knock me out (one of the many meds I’ve been subscribed that didn’t work but knew it would put me to sleep).

Went to the GP in the morning and they gave me something to get me through. I’m all good now but I’m back where I started before taking benzos, which is hard when I’m trying to run a business.

I guess what I’m trying to say is benzos are great for giving your life back but it’s kind of like you pay for it on the backend. All the anxiety, panic attacks etc that the benzos take away come back with a vengeance when you stop.

I’ve tried do many different treatments over the years but they’re the only thing that let me live a normal life. I’ll keep searching for a better option but I feel like I’m running out of options.

Edward and Wallace.

I hate how our government have become whiny.

The message should be... you are unreliable as a trade partner in an emergency so if you are going to block vaccines and other medical supplies then we are going to fund the creation of our own vaccine and drug industry here and after the pandemic we are going to compete globally against you with low cost medication and vaccines.

Haha, I agree with the overall point, but your proposed solution is the epitome of the old saying "easier said than done".

They should create a viable environment for vaccine production in Australia anyway.

We outsource far too many crucial industries.

Not really, we already invest a fair bit into medical R&D, because we have no manufacturing system, our research tends to get sold off to foreign manufacturers. For every $1 the government has put into medical grants, it has gained back $2 in tax revenue, so it is not even a financial drain on the government.

Thanks for sharing Val. I don't have the need to take medications thankfully but I am exposed to the terrible dance on a daily basis one has to undertake when managing the use of potent medications when dealing mental and physical health challenges and completely sympathise with the issues of tolerance and withdrawals, and the impact that this can have on simply functioning on a daily basis. Kudos to you for being so open about it as I know it can be something that sufferers can hide away completely.

One avenue that I am keen to explore is the use of psylocibin at a micro dose level. I have a friend who suffers from depression and anxiety and is quite OCD in some ways. He is also a highly intelligent and highly functional individual. When things got too much for him to manage on a day to day basis he went onto SSRI's which did not agree with him at all. They dulled him down and took away his creative spark and desire to interact with the world in a meaningful way. He tried exercise and diet changes, which helped, but the anxiety would not go away. In the last few years he started growing his own mushrooms and has been micro dosing on a regular basis, which apparently has had a significant positive effect on his well being. Far be it from me to recommend given that a) it is illegal, and b) I am in now way qualified to prescribe such an approach, it but I am curious if it is something that you have considered at all?

we would need a university like Oxford to develop such vaccines, Monash is a leader in their fields but these kind of things are very specialised.

When you think about how much the government pays to fund the PBS, it is quite often paying a fortune for things we can develop and manufacture ourselves.

If we look long-term, we can start funding our industry with what will otherwise become ballooning drug costs for the future.

Yeah, we are spending much less of our GDP on medical research than the leading countries do, by a lot. It is shown that spending in this field isn't just a black hole, it actually creates tax revenue.

We just need to get out of the banana republic mindset, we could do and achieve so much that will set up the nation for generations to come but we are just a pissant country that mines natural resources and flogs off primary produce.
