Some of you gentlemen (and ladies if it's applicable) need to to take a good long hard look at yourselves. The downright disrespectful comments toward the late Duke of Edinburgh are not funny or do you as individuals any credit. The late Duke did commit himself to a lifetime of Service. It started back when he served in the Royal Navy during WW2. Have any of you served your country in war? Yes, he married a very privilleged woman but a life in Royal Service is hardly a walk in the park, and I think you all realise that. His work thrugh "The Duke of Edinburgh Awards", being patron to countless charities and institutions, being a husband and confidant as well as playing second fiddle to the Queen, and his support to the Armed Forces of Britain (Colonel Commandant of the Royal Marines) and to the Australian Army (Field Marshall of the Australian Army since 1954 and the Colonel in Chief of the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) deserves respect. He wasn't perfect and never pretended to be. He at least was himself and would have treated any of you with far greater respect and dignity than you are showing to him.

Of course some of you may dismiss your comments and remarks as 'just jokes'. But let me assure you that they are highly inappropriate. There's a time and a place gentlemen, and if any of you have any moral decency, you'll delete those posts.

“From July 1939, he began corresponding with the then thirteen-year-old Princess Elizabeth, whom he had first met in 1934.”

And he is not the Head of Corps of RAEME. He is Colonel-In-Chief.

To contextualise your post. He only just turned 18 at the time himself, had known her since 1934, were second cousins-once-removed, asked for permission to marry in 1946 and waited until she was 20. Still creepy.

No one is stopping you from mourning.

“He wasn’t perfect” he literally profited off the colonisation, murder and rape of south asians. But pop off

He was also highly racist.

“And if any of you have any moral decency, you’ll delete those posts” LMAO I have moral decency in myself to not mourn someone who was racist especially to my race.

I don't know anything about the royals full stop.
But good on you for calling this juvenile mob mentality out.

By far the funniest post on this topic is this one where assert the royals have some sort of moral high ground because some people posted some stuff on the internet.

How many Brown people died so he could attend galas in the name of charity..

These people sucking up to the likes of Phillip as if he wouldn't have treated them like dogshit on his shoe if they ever actually met beyond some duty where he tried to pretend not to be a massive hird.

Banter only exists when you agree with it then?

Banter means "I'm allowed to be massively offensive and annoying to you, but you can't do it to me".

No, it doesn't faze me one bit.
I thought it was a bit harsh.

And a poster observed it as offensive to her.

Posting jokes about someone's death is a bit insensitive.

I'd imagine the outrage at george floyd jokes.

The hypocrisy is not lost.

Anyway carry on..

You humanitarian imposter

LOL.

You're comparing an African American man murdered by US police to a ... member of the British Royal family dying of old age at 99?

Anyway, go dig up my posts about other members of the Mountbatten family and their deaths, you'll see I'm perfectly consistent on that.

spot on, good to see someone knows how it works

In my experience most users of "banter" are like hahahahahahahaha you barrack for Norf, what you gunna do when they fold next year, and when I respond with some jibe about their club, they cut up all sooky and go, well, its just BANTER!!!!!

Only the simplest of minds engage in "banter".

Ohh the emphasis, African American..

So that's what matters when joking about a death.

So a jokes not a joke

RoyalFlush logic:

You should be as upset at Essendon losing by a point as you are North getting flogged as both are footy games.

The emphasis is on the power disparity. And you literally raised Floyd as the comparison

Idiot.
