Don't worry about it CK... When I had to do mine, I prepared by getting a driving instructor the week earlier to practice. I was a good driver but nerves got the better of me and I stuffed up the first 10 most basic things, including crappy corners (niggly things but the instructor always looks out for them)

Anyway, he said I wasn't ready at all and queried how much I had actually driven lol

When the time for the actual thing came I didn't let the nerves get the better of me, and scored 100% on the first go. The intructor said it was the frsit time in almost 8 years of doing it that someone with him had gotten it all perfect the first time around. Which either says a lot about the other ppl with him or my fantastic skills lol ;)

So just take it easy, if you fail, who cares, there is always another chance :)

That's a good point, but it's more the waiting list that's the problem. I got my L's in January of last year and rang up and booked my test before I had even had a lesson. The earliest I could get in was June 21st...

So it's better to make sure you're ready and know you are and have a later test, then to fail and have to wait another 6 months.

Haha...good one fellas..I am actually doing manual. Also Keys I will keep that in mind.;)Thanks for the info Shibz and Zarko....certainly hearing your cases, it fills me with extreme confidence. :) I can do pretty much you have mentioned ..:D That bloody flow! Just need work at that and I will be fine. Just a last question where was your test? Welshpool right, guys? :(

FWIW, I got my L's last year too. :o Uni took a year of driving away from me.

Rockingham :thumbsu:;)

Apparantly the easiest one to get a place is in Mandurah. And they're not as hard on you either. So if you fail...go there!

Haha, I remember getting my license. I had a killer ear infection, rocked up to Welshpool after taking a heap of antibiotics, was feeling ****ing terrible.

Got into the car to do the test and the guy testing me was a massive bloke (I brushed his leg every time I put it in first), he was a bit of a psycho too, went off his nut because I took the wrong turn.

Anyway, somehow managed to get it my first go. This was probably close to 5 years ago now, probably is a bit tougher now.

The bastard cop who took me for my first test failed me for being "too confident." Which I couldn't believe since I was shitting myself the whole time.

Must have just been just to knock me down a peg because when I went back for my second go this other cop just got me to drive round the block then gave me my licence.

You might have got extra points for brushing his leg ;)

Well I know for the learning book thing a friend told me a successful one means you can't break any road rules and get over x points for 25 minutes. The test where you didn't do the log book, maybe same time up to an hour I am guessing

How long does the test usually takes?

A successfull one that is..;)

Please keep us all up to date on the progress on this please CK:thumbsu::)

We all need something to laugh at........nah mate......good luck to you:D

Keyser does have a very good point with the brown paper bag thing though!

My Pop was a mechanic back in the good old days and started working when he was about 14 so he learnt to drive cars pretty young. He said that when he went to get his license when he turned 18 or whenever he was allowed to, he walked up to the cop and asks

"can you take me for my driving test".

to which he replied.

"I've seen you driving round haven't I? Agh **** it I will just sign the damn thing"

And thats how you got your license way back in the day.

When i went for my drivers license I hit the curb, changed lanes twice without indicating. Turned the wrong way once, sped once and still passed.

Following on from my failing for silly reasons:

At the time I had a female friend (;)) a couple of months younger than me who went for her test with the same cop.

She was an attractive girl with a nice set of... um... airbags? Being quite clever* she wore a tight singlet and a short pair of shorts to her test. Very short and very tight...

Anyway, she told me that when they first got in the car she tried to start it in 3rd - stalling it. Then she pulled away from the copshop without indicating. Then she forgot to indicate at the very first turn. Finally she stalled the car again taking off from a give way sign.

Did she fail despite having the same cop as me only 2 months apart?

Of course not. He didn't even ask her to do a hill start or a parallel park (unlike me of course).

At least he wasn't a bouncer I spose. Otherwise he would've given her her licence without even getting in the car.

*ie manipulating like only a hot chick can.

I know exactly where you're coming from. I used to run a bottlo and I used to let the occasional hottie through without ID. You know you're being a complete sap but it's just a weakness hardwired into our feeble male brains I think.

I rate a nice ass much higher than breasts these days.
