My boss, a Lions supporter, attended the Freo-Richmond game as the guest of a Tigers supporter. He got massively drunk on the full strength beer that you get in corporate boxes and proceeded to berate Freo for the duration of the match, including such witticisms as "You're only an average WAFL player Crowley", and "Where's Dessie the frontrunner?"

No real point to this story, but this is the random discussion thread after all.

However the note the manager put on the door is now the background on my phone, and it reads roughly

TO THE RESIDENTS

People who want to watch FOOTY GAMES will no longer be able to watch them from the COMMON ROOM.

Residents are advised to make there own alternative arrangements to watch these games in their units or off premises

The Eagles kid may be crying now, but in the long term he will be the successful one in the family! :D

On the W.A. football, it really is becoming pathetic at the moment. I'm telling Docker friends and relatives, there is 'always Palmer/ young kids coming through' and 'Harvey will sort it out'. And they are telling me, how 'difficult it is to replace Judd and Cousins' etc.. Like I said, Pathetic!

I think a majority are more pissed off and hurt more then scared. It just seems that whenever there is a chance for us to come good, the players don't seize it.

It's kind of funny though, coz most would be jumping onto your mob's bandwagon...but you guys are 1-3 like us, so there would be no real point...

We'll come good. Eventually.

As I said to the random Freo supporter as I walked out at the end of the game "There's always next season" :o

I think that McManus, Bell, Farmer, Tarrant and Matty Carr will retire at the end of this year, leaving spots open for Ibbotson and a few of the other young kids. So maybe 2012? Shit, I'll be 23 :(

It just doesn't make sense though. How can a team go from making the top 4, to not even making the top 8 the following year? The team hardly changed. I guess the Farmer suspension hurt, as well as the Johnson one. Johnson being suspended has probably killed his confidence, which is why he isn't as good as he was in 06.

So yeah, maybe 2012-2013.

Seriously, I honestly don't think that we are that far away at all.

The "oldest list" thing is the least of our problems IMO. And probably the most useless statistic in footy.

That can be easily manipulated by 5-6 retirements and the infusion of new blood.....which will inevitably happen anyway.

My primary concern is the mental approach.....the nucleus of this team has shown that it has the ability to beat anyone, anywhere, on its day........and we will probably do something left field like beating Geelong by 5 goals.....but the next week.....we will get pumped like Melbourne.

Fremantle's problems, IMO, are purely above the shoulders.

Personally, I blame you guys for secretly putting something into our pre-game meals.:mad:;)
