I've picked a side with the new positional substitution in mind (Gilbee/ROK as mids to sub with Hodge/Boomer if needed, as I think this could be an extremeley valuable addition this year if used properly.

Bit iffy with my forward line though.

Any opinions very welcome.

New forward line reads: Brown, Pavlich, Boomer, Josh Kennedy, Jurrah, Dangerfield, Gumbleton. Same bench.

I think most are going to be running with 3 or 4 newbs. Until round 1, no one really knows which newbs will get a game. Martin and Trengove seem most likely I think. Until then, its only guess work.

Yep I'm going with 4. Best rookies by far this year are in the middle, Martin and Trengove should be decent scorers to have on the field

Honestly I think its a bit on average side your Mids are risky whilst Kerr does have a massive upside he has only played 22/44 games in the last 2 years. Your rucks are interesting but I think you have spent too much on your Ruck bench. Keep one of Warnock or Charman and free up some cash for else where. Your Defence is different, do you think Dawson is going to increase his average this year? Or Malceski? Kennely & Gilbee should improve but I think you need more keepers in there. As for your forwardline I don't think Rooke will improve on his average. Danger, ROK & Gia all look the goods this year.

Just look across your team and ask how many keepers do you think you have? I think you need a few more but thats just me.

I think you need to switch some money from your mids to your forwards and maybe your rucks.

You have a gun starting midfield but you are paying the price elsewhere.

I'd try to get a $500K + forward in there.

Not much wrong in my mind. I have heard Ladson is unlikely for Round 1 from fellow sources, but he COULD play. Your forward line will only have 2 big scorers from last year playing in round one (in Riewoldt and ROK), but your forward line seems alright.

Rucks are good, both should be high scorers, both good picks. Dunno about both Port reserves, I'm not sure if they will conflict or not, but reserves aren't usually ever locked in until after NAB Cup anyway.

Mids good. Going for 2 rookies can be risky, but with Trengove and Martin, both SHOULD play early anyway. Overall pretty good.

Boyd and Vince come into midfield. Boyd is so underrated in SC Circles, only being mentioned once to my knowledge in this forum. Vince could have year in that Adelaide midfield, and can't be overlooked.

Onto the forward line. Franklin out, Sylvia in. This change might be seen as stupid in the eyes of many, but Supercoach is all up in the air this early. I wanted to go for a little more consistency, and I know Sylvia isn't the most consistent guy, but probably more consistant than Franklin. I am looking for a replacement here (maybe Boomer Harvey), but Sylvia will do for a couple of hours, until I start overthinking and trade him out.

I'd say yes, they seem the best prospects for round 1.

I had similar forwards last year and it was a rollercoaster ride (and an unejoyable one at that).

Team's overall good. 3 rookies in the midfield is extremely risky, but could pay off if all fire very well. Sylvia. Dunno much about Sylvia, despite me naming him. Ziebell and Le Cras can pull big scores, but may also pull occasional low scores.

I'm not sold on Tippett as a ruck though, I think theres better options for consistent scores. Same with Fevola, I think Brown would be a better option, as he will spend more time up the ground gathering strong touches and still kicking goals.

I'm still thinking the ability to change between positions for some players is gonna be so important, hence Ladson is in the mids not defence (can swap with Hodge) Goodes in mid (can swap with Boomer) etc. Its gonna make maneuvering for trades so much easier later on....

Agreed, although some of the people who post here don't have the knowledge to comment. I'm sort've on the same boat, going off what I hear, but I try to comment as much as I can. Some teams also get left behind, so it's unfair to some people.

Hmmm. Starting Mcguire is a risk, any way you look at it, but if he does start, he will be a cash cow. Dunno how Macdonald will go at Melbourne, I have Gram in the Macdonald spot, but I'm probably wrong (I am sorta learning still).

Midfield is solid for the most part, I have heard Ladson is unlikely for round 1, but if he does play, he may be a risk worth taking. Everything else in that midfield is top class.

Rucks good.

Forwards seem alright. First 3 are good, I am not sure about your last 4 exactly, but it may be a money factor more than anything. Last 4 have potential, but will they deliver? For you, I hope so.

Pretty good overall I gotta say. Nothing terrible to report
