If it was the other way around and Doc pushed Brayshaw who kicked it out on the full then awarded the free to Taberner down field it'd role onto the frustration to the nature of the frees against us from last week.

Not saying I'm unhappy, we should've won regardless given the two questionable free kicks Fremantle got in front of goal early on. I'm just saying you can't really say that last thirty seconds wasn't dubious.
If it were the other way around I'd be upset our player felt it necessary to shove a Freo player over after he kicked it.

Not saying other decisions were/weren't dubious but that last one was the correct call. Knocking someone over after they've disposed of it is a free kick down field, irrelevant of where the kick ends up.

Was not far away from this. Ran down from our seats to cheer the boys off.

They’re reacting to the Cripps family and friends in the third tier.
How was that game for ya then MPH?

What a bloody clutch goal that was from Newnes!
Flew back from Broome just got to the game as the first bounce was struck freezing cold wet weather hard at it footy.
Well done Blue Boys a win that could set this group up for greater things in the future.
Well done to the West Aussie Blues Supporters who were there when the ball sailed through it felt like a home game with the massive ROAR!
What a win I'm still buzzing and up and about.
GO BLUES!

I never watch Ch7. I'm strictly a FoxFooty watcher. No adds.

But for some reason, as soon as Newnes sunk that goal i thought "i'll go to 7 and record the aftermatch and switch back to Fox". So i did. And i've just now watched the 7 aftermatch.

How sweet was the Brayshaw, Richo, Darcy tears lol. They were shattered. The fake laughing in between all the handwringing was, as 7 would say, delicious.

Same.
Never watch 7 for the exact same reason. Fox also have a significantly better panel when it comes to previewing and reviewing games as well.

Any chance Ed Curnow gets a spot in the AA team (even on the bench)

Having an extraordinary season, even by his standards. Absolute warrior of a player.

I should clarify that I am currently at my playing weight.

I just haven't reached my playing height yet......
I picture you as a lean, mean running machine Ferris. Don't sweat it. Inner height is all thay counts.

At risk of opening a can of worms...gee the rulebook is vague on the notion of a free kick down-field.

Saw plenty of posts around referencing Wikipedia, which is nonsense. So took a look at the actual laws of the game. A free kick can be awarded at the location of the infringement, or the location of the ball at the time of infringement, whichever is the greater penalty.

I mean...to me...it seems most down field free kicks have been incorrectly adjudicated then. How often does the late hit happen when the ball has covered its full distance? Rare.

Happy to take one our way given the shit we've been served recently, but the rule is poorly written or consistently poorly applied.

Fair enough, lets enjoy the win!

On to beating the Suns next week :thumbsu:

A lot of grey areas, imagine how the umps feel

*not making excuses I agree with you

That pure joy on Cripps face after we won and that fisher pick up, best part of the game. :thumbsu:
Crippa looked like a radiant 7 y.o kid.
A more adorable face,
I have yet to see.

With a much easier run for the rest of the season, back to our preferred hub in QLD and getting players back like Martin, Gov and Pitts... let's use this result to make a run of it.

We’re in Darwin this Friday I think
