I'm glad drum and duffield kept their spots. I like what Harvey said on the radio this week about giving the younger players 2 or 3 weeks, rather than just dropping them after 1 game. This would relieve the pressure a bit and really give them a chance to show what they can do.

Really disappointed about Warners. I had him pencilled in for the Rising Star nomination this round.. :(

Oh well - looks like Drummy will have to get it instead... :thumbsu:

Hope Schammer gets a run with Claremont... except they have the bye I just remembered. Does he need the match finess, or not???

I think the club are managing Warnock really well - it's easy to forget that he's only a skinny 20 year old. We don't want to be running him into the ground before he's even made it. They seem to be playing him against the lesser ruckmen of the competition and let Sandi and Gimore take on the better rukmen - the ones more inclined to throw everything they've got at Warnock and break him in two. I reckon he'll be back next week with Sandi to take on Cox/Seaby - there's no rush to be throwing him to the wolves just yet.

Gilmore. Johnson can also ruck if required.

Excuse my ignorance as i dont get to see too much of you guys, but Gilmore is smaller than Joel Corey - a mid. How does he go in the ruck against guys 200cm+? Where does he play when not rucking?

I rate Johnson pretty highly, his speed for such a tall bloke is astounding; good skills too. I can see him pinch hitting in the back line but...

I guess my query is how your boys will stand up against two in form 200cm ruckman...

Has been fantastic the past 2 times he has played Gilmore. Probably is 25/75 in hitouts but its his work around the ground thats what we require. We bascially have an extra mid when he is rucking which will be handy agaisnt you guys.

I think Harvey did the right thing in playing Sandilands and not Warnock. The Geelong rucks are under-rated especially Blake. I think Harvey has gone for experience with this one, also it looks like it will be wet so no point playing 2 ruckmen when Sandilands can do the job with Gilmore doing what he has done for the past 2 weeks.

Interesting forward line structure this week with hayden and tarrant in pockets and drum at ful forward. Farmer at half forward flank.

Gilmore is 189cm  but has a tremendous leap .

Against Adelaide He contested 44 ruck contests against Hudson and Maric winning 11 taps.

He also had 21 possesions 3 clearances 4 tackles and kicked a goal and a poster.

It was his best game for the club by the best part of a fair bit.

All in just 53 minutes of game time.

We are all still scratching our heads in amazement and hoping it wasn't a fluke and that he can back up again this week.

25/75 what a guess.

maybe warnock in through the old last minute emergency switch-a-roo.
have to say gilmore played a brilliant match last week. hard to fault him as well.

Very surprised Warnock was dropped. Seemed to contribute a lot around the ground in terms of link up play. Much more than Sandilands has all year in any game.

Dont see how the club would be running him into the ground. He has only played a handful of games. Let him taste what its like to play the best team in the league while his confidence is high. Good a time as any.

It has been raining all week and showers are forecast for Saturday, so dropping Big Nockers makes sense as long as Sandi is 100%.

murph was a bit stiff as well ,not a good time to get 1 week,
warners was a bit stiff but how could you drop gilmore after last weeks effort

except to have a fair input in his last game , what i think he kicked a couple of goals at least,he'sbeen starved of opportunity imo.
give him a little more game time and he could be a 70 goal a year fwd
