North Melbourne has recalled forward Mason Wood for its final round clash against Melbourne on Saturday.

As described by Garry and Timmy on SEN this morning, "North are fattening the lamb for market by recalling Wood. Likewise the Crows with Jacobs."

Our field umpires for this week are;
11-Curtis Deboy
14-Hayden Gavine
29-Andrew Heffernan
EM-17 John Howorth

The work experience kids deployed to the dead rubber played in the boon docks.

Well, at least it will be sort of warm ..... oh, forgot to factor in the wind chill ...... oh dear .

Perhaps the club doesn't think he's ready for the step up in pace and skill.
You would think kicking 6 straight would be a good shout to play a dead rubber last game of the year. Absolutely nothing to lose.

Wood didn’t really set the VFL alight last week and is brought in ahead of him. 26 years old and trade bait by all accounts.

Clearly, the match committee see them day to day. But if there is ever a game to throw someone in with nothing to lose then this is it

Wood got a heap of the ball last week and did his job really well. Maybe we just think he's best 22 and want to give Brown every chance to snag the Coleman.

Next minute, Brown goes goalless and Wood snares a dozen.

I really don't get this, like its really going to make a difference to other clubs. Could be total opposite and he does nothing, will that mean he is worth a 3rd rounder? Clubs aren't silly.

My God ........

Where and when: Blundstone Arena, Saturday August 24, 2.10pm AEST
TV, radio and online: Click here for broadcast guide
What it means for North Melbourne: The chance to win double-digit games. That might not seem a significant milestone, but it's a solid effort after starting the year with a 2-7 record – and would be a good platform for 2020.
What it means for Melbourne: Honestly? Very little at this stage. This season provided major disappointment after major disappointment, and last week's capitulation against Sydney was another. Maybe the Dees can salvage some pride.

The stat: Melbourne ranks last for scores and goals per inside 50 percentage, one of the stories of its season.
The match-up: Todd Goldstein v Max Gawn
If nothing else excites you about this match, then look out for this ruck contest between All Australians Gawn (No.1 in AFL Player Ratings) and Goldstein (No.6). Few who watched their titanic clash at Blundstone Arena in round three, 2016 will ever forget it.
It's a big week for: Jordan Lewis
The four-time premiership Hawk's magnificent playing career comes to an end on Saturday, although it will be in red and blue. Lewis spent the past three seasons playing for the Demons and will be keen to sign off in the right fashion.

Big call: Jake Melksham kicks five goals in a lone hand for Melbourne, but his efforts aren't nearly enough to haul his side across the line.
Prediction: North Melbourne by 40 points

Nothing about Scooters last game ......... GET STUFFED YOU CAMPAIGNERS !!!!!
