Gees I hope when the players return to ikon park, there's 400 ton of horse crap dumped by the front doors!! Absolute pathetic! Pay me $400 grand to run around an oval and not give a shit!! It's us supporters who's weekends are ruined by the clubs shitness! While the players will put up posts on Insta of there big breakfasts in the morning and not give a shit!!! Hopeless duds

Four rounds in and already all hope of improvement seems lost. Once again reduced to watching the season as a neutral. I just wanna be competitive and perhaps at some point get genuinely excited about September again.

Ive gotten used these loses and can understand that the club is rebuilding/injuries/whatever excuse you want to give, and it will take time.

What sucks when the kids get up tomorrow and will want to watch the replay, and yet again i will have to pretend it didnt record.

I was told in no uncertain terms by my 7yo that if we lost to the pies he would probably change teams. We got through last week due to having a ripping day at the blues junior footy clinic. The kids had a ball meeting and doing some drills with the players. It re-ignighted the passion for the blues in my boys.

**** knows how they will react tomorrow.

Play the 1995 GF win!

13 players 23 and under tonight, averaging 29 games each.

Our experienced players are 28 and over and the 3 players in the yawning chasm between 23 and 28 were Jones, Mullett and O'Shea. We clearly lack balance at the moment and will do for another year or two. We of all clubs couldn't afford to lose our strongest leader in that age profile gap and we are finding out why. Our only on field organiser is Simmo at the moment.

We may have overcooked this rebuild a tad and didn't get in the right type of experienced player.

No. It's just not finsihed yet

Be good if his game plan made us competitive. It’s his 3rd season and we’re worse than what we were when he started.
He's tried changing it this year and it's made us less competitive. Part of the education process? Who knows. Wayne Hughes is to blame for this

Worse thing that could have happened after the loss of Gibbs and Docherty was to get injuries early in the season and now plenty of them .
Even worse yet again injuries in game .
And FFS! before the game even started as well .
I can understand a 0-4 start to the season with this in mind .
But my god i cannot explain the insipid lack of effort going on out there .
Which in itself explains the diaboligical skill errors we are making .
Long road back now .

I don't suffer fools lightly, some will never see it, even if it is standing in front of them
No, I get that.

You're always better off not suffering fools as loudly and as publicly as possible; it keeps the fool's perspectives from taking predominance, over the logical or the factual. If you are convinced you are correct, debate, argue the point every time.

Only then does the truth out itself.

As for the match itself, what the **** did you expect after Murphy went down? What did you expect after the first term, when a number of borderline free kicks went their way? What did you really think was going to happen?

They're not as bad as they seem; at least, they won't be for a while. Hell, if they get similar interpretations of what holding the man is every week, they'll be top eight; such is the way of things, playing interstate. Would that we were better, good enough to allow for it, the home ground advantage granted by umpiring and local knowledge.

As for the game itself, we sucked. We all know that. I saw plenty I appreciated; Charlie kept trying, as did Samo, as did Fish, despite the attention. Casboult tried his utmost to influence the game; it took until the final term for him to retaliate for the holding, the blocking, the shit kicks to him. I'd actually ask him to go harder, in the same situation again; it is beyond belief that he hasn't whacked someone for being an arseh*le just yet.

Lochie O'brien showed lots tonight, I'm pretty happy with his contribution. JSOS wasn't on-ball for long enough, but when he was part of a stoppage situation, I was pretty happy with what I saw; he WANTS the ball, and **** anyone who gets in the way. Dow really needs to work on his desire to tackle, and his desire to repeat his efforts to get the ball; he'd go once, and give up if he didn't get it. When he got it at all, he'd burn it too soon; in an ideal world, he'd develop in the twos, but ideal worlds aren't this one.

I'm not as down on Weitering as I could be, if only due to the fact that he's under a clear and persistent spotlight. Put any third year in clear view, and in our team, and watch them wilt. Charlie doesn't count; he's a force of nature, marking despite tunnelling constantly.

Ultimately, this game was decided in the first half. They got a run on, due to a few dubious frees which garnered them shots on goal, and from there they seized momentum and ran with it until the end. They're not a good side, yet all sides look good when granted a six goal lead. We'll live and learn; we'll go back to the drawing board. But the one thing we shouldn't do is overreact.

This was thoroughly in our plans. This was accounted for; it's why there were no preseason takes from within the club. It will take more time than we have available to get in both enough talent AND to develop requisite match fitness to become good enough consistently enough to be better than others. Other sides have the luxury of being able to elect for the Clayton Oliver's of the world, the ready-made players, as their sides are already built. Not for us just yet.

We'll get there. Expect to lose many more in the first half of the year; what we've got will be vastly more interesting in the second half of the season.

For the short sighted whingers my perspective before I go and have a drink and celebrate a fine debut

Youngest list we have ever had and we are playing most of them
Long list of injuries to key players which at this stage we need to be competitive
Kennedy Kruezer are playing injured
Given their experience and support SPS Fisher Charlie Marchbank Silvagni O'Brien Dow show positive signs
It is hard to cover one young player in an AFL side. 12 or so is impossible.
Kids do not consistently influence games. Physically we can't match especially with tackling and pressure
Rebuild is trying to be fast tracked
This is the year for some elite mature bodies and couple more talented kids.
We have most positions well covered
We will fight through this and come out the other side a much better side and club
OShea Jones Thomas Lamb Mullett Shaw Casboult will not be part of best 22 in 2019/20

Mark this down and feel free to come at me if proven untrue as I know most will not say anything if I'm right

1. We will win more than 4 games this year
2. 2nd half will be a lot better
3. 2019 will see significant improvement
4. 2020 will be finals or very close
5. A lot of posters will go missing then

I want some of what you are smoking....

Let me say this. Any paying supporter should be allowed to vent after a terrible loss. Everyone deals with things differently. Some people prefer to hold it all inside and just wait until things change. Other people can’t hold it inside because they need to release it to feel better. Anyone that criticised them for that needs to have a good look at themselves. That being said, how Sh*t are we.
Your fine mate. We're all disappointed with this one, and we all deal with it differently. We all have a right to vent in our way.

How many rock bottoms can you have?

I'd be glad to have burnt memberships and chicken shit on the doorstep, but we're all too apathetic just like the entire club.
I don't think the club had any option but to go to the draft the way they have. Too many injuries atm and the young bodies are obviously overwhelmed. The seniors we had before Bolts came along were never going to take us anywhere either. Also, good players were not interested in coming to our club so just got to grind it out regardless of how long it takes. It has to come together at some stage. I just hope the board do not overreact and we go back to square 1.

There's you wooden spoon battle and we nearly lost it by 100 points. Gone too hard with the rebuild 10-4 under 21s out there tonight. Most sides have 3-5 a week we regularly have 8-10.

13 players with 12 or fewer possessions to 6. Our 22-28 year old range on our list is absolutely second rate. Cripps (and Doch) aside there's not a single player even at a B-grade level. Ed Curnow the next best and he's a great role player. The rest are avg. role players or just not up to it.

Here's hoping we stick fat with Bolton after a 3-19 season. What hopes he got with such an abysmal list
Where will the three come from?

Grats on LOB debut. I'm sure it was still a great night enjoy the drinks :)

So how much time is he given? If we struggle this badly all season, I don’t see why he should be given a 4th season. The game plan itself is no good.

Agree ... and add Willo to that list

LOB - hold your head high, first game in the big league and you absolutely showed how not to throw the towel in and got rewarded for your effort... well done!

O’Shea - will unfortunately be nothing but a VFL player the amount of time he panicked when he had the ball, and then turned it over when he had so much space was ridiculously poor

Mullet - unfortunately gets to the footy, does the right things but like the whole team this season just doesn’t use it nowhere near well enough. Admire his effort and willingness to want the footy and will be okay for a back up player

Dow - at the moment is just not getting any benefit being out there at the minute, he has turned it over by foot but he is still making the progressing through to AFL but just needs a few of weeks in the VFL to get his bearings and not void his confidence

Jones - FFS, doesn’t play man on man, doesn’t play the 1%’s as you need to as a defender, and for the love of god stop punching the ball down the corridor... ALWAYS DEFENSIVE SIDE!!!

Weitering - as much as I loved him in his first two seasons, and I know he’s been bad this year so far... he just doesn’t want to be there at all.. the lack of pressure, the constant falling to his knees in every contest and the way he used to swallow up easy passes so regularly it’s absolutely disappeared

Bolton - please don’t play an offensive style of gameplay when we have so many injuries and just simply don’t have the cattle to play the plan... the team is battling bad and is struggling with the absolute basics because they look like they have lost confidence in themselves on the field... please play man on man and focus on pressure, contested footy and tackling next week

Absolutely spot on!
