Wilshire picked a bad time to have a bad VFL game.

If he had another high-level game, you'd think he was a cert to play.

After watching him in the VFL... I'm not so sure.

Thinking the MC look beyond just the most recent outing for a player - be it them dropping back to VFL or even a debut

The new Superman has forced Geelong off their own ground.

Hollywood superstar David Corenswet has taken over GMHBA Stadium for a fortnight to build his latest movie.

The film, expected to be called Mr Irrelevant, is based on American footballer John Tuggle.”

Miers Knevitt : OUT ... Stanley? Henry?
Mullin Clohesy : IN .... Wiltshire? Duncan?

Stanley played well v Hawks but may be managed
Henry may get a reprieve... but if he fails again...
Needs to go back to VFL until kicking multi goals

Is it time to give Wiltshire a debut? Whilst also rewarding the good form of Clark in the VFL?
Out: Miers, Knevitt
In: Whiltshire, Clark

Exactly, in the same way we don't go dropping a player after a down game when they've been in good form prior. Everyone will have a poor game or games at some point during a season. It's too hard a game to be up each week.

The day Blicavs retires will make us a lot weaker. Mr Fixit.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but IMO, Blitz is the best player in the league. The bloke can play as a key back, ruckman, wing and lockdown midfielder, and sometimes all four during the same match and do the job superbly. Name another player in the league versatile enough to play all those roles.

He could probably be a key forward too but we haven't needed to play him there yet.

Re O Henry , there was a game when he was at Colllingwood , might have been against the Crows , where he came on as sub , kicked 4 goals and basically won the game for the Magpies

So i would make him the Sub this week , if he comes on and does well , then he can come back into the AFL Starting team , but if he is a fizzer as the sub then he can go to the VFL

I wouldnt be even having a Threepence on Geelong this week , often the Cats struggle after the Easter Monday game against Haw , plus its Carltons 30 year anniversary after their last flag , so they are going to be fired up for this game - and they did thrash us last year

Some games you have a gut feel , like playing Stk at Marvel is allways a worry , and this game unfortunately ive got the same feel

I think the Blues will win by about 3-4 goals , so i will take any narrow Geel victory this week so the Cats go 5-2
😩 😩 😩

Early squad news -

Out: Miers
In: Clark, Duncan, Mullin & Wiltshire (talked up for potential debut)

I'd say it's just mullin for miers unless anyone is sore (although I am sure they will give Duncan 4 sub games at some point). I'd like to see Henry dropped but I doubt it happens.

Think we have made our preference clear. At his age ..we need to be pushing games into him ..especially as he has shown signs of him now becoming a contributor. Still only April so there is time for Duncan when the grounds soften… the only nervous component is him getting injured at the wrong time.

For a single role player OHenry needs to find a way to contribute when things are not going well for him or develop the ability to play multiple roles

Just picking up on your comment that Ollie Henry is playing in a quasi Rohan role. Rohan was around 94kg with extreme pace and hit packs hard. I think if anyone is filling that role it is Danger. The way our forward line is structured Henry should be getting the 3rd or 4th defender assuming Neale and Danger take the first and second and if Cameron is playing forward he takes the 2nd or 3rd. Henry should be creating more opportunities for himself than he is.
did you notice OH was manned up by #6 on Monday for quite a while? Hardly the 3/4th defender.
If OH is let loose, he will hurt oppositions. Still think it's a learning experience for him, being a decoy, and making way for Danger in his spot.

The being dropped is not what builds the confidence. It's the playing at a lower level where he can focus on his fundamentals in a less-competitive environment.

Kinda like going for a 10km run when you're training for a marathon.
False confidence. Dominating at VFL level does not necessarily create good habits & can garnish a me-first attitude. But it can work for some who need a dose of humble pie. Ginnivan...

We've had 2 heavy running games. And some clubs just have your measure.

Smith into the middle and danger forward might have just moved the needle.
But there's no way I'd bet on this game.

Actually, I would bet during the game when momentum is shown. That's the key.
Unusual betting game
We are too short but Carlton also seem too short

Being between a 4/10 and a 7/10 in all those roles doesn’t make him best in league
