This is quite possibly the reason we aren't matching the big money offers from the Dogs etc. Maybe we figure Doedee or Keith takes his spot and we get to get a first rounder or so for him and we use the spare money for a good midfielder. I'd actually be for that scenario but I don't want to lose the Gov as well.

Better get them signed up pronto because both are out of contract at season's end aren't they.

I'm sure the club would explore this but let's say the cap has risen $2m this year alone and we have not included the rise in current contracts. Why don't we pay jake $1.2m this year (let's say he is on $300k currently) then pay him $600 for the next 5. Essentially it's $800k for 5 years

I think the issue will be home much we are prepared to pay him, not how we pay him.

Its time to think outside the box. The fans have to do a Costa here. Every crows fan needs to start buying their make up or their partners and daughters make up from Jakes wife. 60,000 fans buy $50 a year in make up (assuming 20% profit) and thats $600,000 a year.

$1.2M + $600K + $600K + $600K + $600K + $600K = $4.2M / 6 = $700K per year

or

$1.2M + $600K + $600K + $600K + $600K = $3.6M / 5 = $720K per year
