I just finished the game and.........and.......wow.

I wish I could go back and kill the rest of his family too. Oh well, next time. That's a great finishing song too.

For Stinger and other people that have finished it.
Finished it last night, did you find for a while it was going to be predictable? It was really well done the ending but annoyed me as well, loved Mr. John Marston. Just trying to get 100% now. I didn't kill his wife as I was a good guy throughout my life and I thought that John wouldn't want me to do something like that. I admit though, just for the fun of it I did kill her but didn't save it.Mainly to see what reaction I got out of the character and myself. I agree as well, music is amazing at times.

Finally busted everyone out in poker in Blackwater so i could get the US army uniform, and then found out you can't get it until you finish the game...fuuuuuuuu....

Mauser piston ftw btw

I've only tried online once. I got on my shitty little donkey and rode around a bit, before unwisely shooting two lawmen and being chased towards a ravine. Before I could do much I was kicked off the server.

I did like it though, I'd love to build up a cool character, ****ed if I know how though

Never had a lot of trouble with wolves, usually just ride away from them. If they get too much of a problem just kick in dead eye, mark em all up with RB and wipe them out.

Come to think of it, a while back there was a few people on here asking if anyone ever used dead eye. Didn't use it much at first TBH, but ever since i learnt level 3 dead eye i seriously use it all the time. When 3 guys are chasing you on horse back, its so easy just to pop them in the head from miles away while still going full tilt

I had an issue today in the game in the Tall Trees area where the sound got all distorted, I couldnt hear any animals, gunshots or music. Also animals were appearing out of no where. I turned the game off as it was annoying. I'm not much into gaming. Is this likely to be a one off thing? If i restart the PS3 will it return to normal? Any help would be great cheers.

I had this happen to me, sounded like the train except it was just an excerpt on a loop.

I restarted and it stopped.

OMFG Wolves!!! I was out trying to find strangers in Mexico and came across a few world events as you do. One of them I was far in the land from a road and I shit you not I killed 30+ wolves within about 5 minutes. I probably should've high tailed it after 10 of them, but I know how much they're worth at the shops and kept wanting to skin them for their pelts/hearts/meat and as I'd get done skinning some more would come. It was ****en insane, no idea how I didn't die. Was absolutely ridiculous, ended up just having to piss bolt out of there once I was done with the 30+ wolves pelts/meat/hearts.
Is there enough wolves in Mexico? Pack of 5 ran at me, then another 3, then 5 more.. and snakes!

I had a weird encounter before, some guy made a bet that I couldn't collect 2 flowers quicker than him. Chucked $18 on it and being a gambler myself I couldn't resist. He then followed me to both the flowers that I ran to so I won easily.

Yeah you get those herb guy challenges a bit.

Once I did it, but I had just picked one before I saw him, and thus couldn't pick it during the challenge....I shot him and I lost.

Any tips on disarming 6 people without reloadining anyone?
Theives Landing saloon. Hide behind the bar and go into Dead Eye when people come through the door. Don't X their gun though, just shoot at it then duck back down behind the bar. Your gun won't reload.:thumbsu:

Cheers Stinger! Will give that one a go tomorrow.

In other news, i just finished the main story.
Damn..... I was really warming to this Marston fella, seemed like a good bloke towards his family, decent set of morals too... Probably one of the best main characters i've ever played, shame they killed him. Was pretty stunned to be honest, wanted to throw the controller at the TV. /rage.

EDIT: When he first breaks out of the barn doors and seen all those men and then broke into dead eye, i thought it was going to be an awesome shootout and i wondered if i'd have enough deadeye to get them all, but alas, after the first one, it cuts to the most miserable scene i've seen in a game :(

About the end of the game so don't read the following unless you're done.

Didn't you know it was coming with all the moments with the family though? Setting his son up for the real world, saying everything gets back to you. I loved the interaction between him and his family. He looked so normal if you get me, eating the stew when his wife went away, stuff like that made me smile, just general real life human kinda stuff. Really sad it happened but I had a feeling as soon out as about my family. Didn't want it to of course but yeah, him and commander Shepard from ME/ME2 are my fave characters for a while. I liked being the vault boy from 101 but you didn't get to hear him talk really/interact with him. Amazing finish, he knew he was gone from the start, I seriously was still like "**** off I can take them go back in the shed, plant some dynamite, go on the roof, just do something. But he knew it would go forever until he was dead.

Ending

First, I think you should've had more of a shootout at the end; just kept fighting and fighting, then you should've got shot a few times, retreated to the barn, and realised you needed to hold them off a bit longer for your family, and then did what he did.

That aside, I totally expected to come riding over the hill one day and see my ranch on fire and my wife and/or son murdered. I expected it to be one or the other, and then have my Wife say "We can't escape that life until you kill those sons of bitches," - and then that'd be the setup for the sequel. Or the same, but with your son saying it, and then the two of you riding out to waste them in the sequel.

I reckon my ending would've been better ;)

Done a few of these. Guy always goes on foot. Get on your horse and you'll beat him every time

Yeah i like the last thing you said Elvis, would've made a sweet ending.

About the ending again..
It was nice to get revenge but I felt it was a little quick. Then again it probably would've made the game even longer. I'd rather there be a sequel and try to get revenge in that or something. Points to no sequel i'd imagine now. Wonder what DLC can offer.
