While you do raise some good points, I think most would agree that our starting best 22 midfielders are now top notch.
However the thin depth underneath them is critically low.

Sure the recruiters have tried to address this on previous years, but have repeatedly come up short.

Some on here get a bit narkie when I have a go at the recruiters, therefore I best refrain from further comment.

So maybe it’s the way they assess the quality and suitability of who we select.
Perhaps that’s something that needs to be reviewed.

Either way we are short of midfielder depth right at the minute and it’s going to have an impact on how far we progress into this years finals.

My concern is more the fact that our midfield isn’t only shallow, but it’s old. Without NN and Shuey, we screwed...

Yes it would be “uncomfortable”, because if we were to finish 5th, and Fremantle finished 8th, we would lose. This is as stated during Fremantle’s display of excellence against Carlton several weeks ago, we are not going to be winning any more derbies for quite a while. Sad times ahead
