BODE thinking that Cameron walks into the Cats because GWS don't match.

And that they go to the draft with 13,15 and 20.

Then they have to cough up : Three first rounders for Cameron.

I'm not sure how the points calculator works but i believe our trade for Kelly last year was the most expensive ever.

Please tell me that BODE have coughed up even more.😄

I actually think it's about the same points. Those 2nd rounders back are actually quite valuable from a points perspective particularly if both Bombers and Giants miss the 8.

It's actually quite a bit less, according to the draft calculator :( But the points probably undervalue first rounders, so maybe close to equal.

From a points perspective we paid more but we've already gotten a years service from Tim Kelly and Jeremy Cameron will be 28 by the start of next year.

There's about 21 months and change between their ages so its plausable to assume we get three more years out of Tim Kelly than Geelong do out of Cameron.

When you take that into account they paid a very high price for a 28 year old.

The fact they though they were getting him for nothing and they have the oldest list in the AFL has got to sting.

Bulldogs with a very good midfield next year!!
They'll be hard to beat

Dunkley - I want to leave to get more mid time, Essendon can give me that.

Dogs -OK fair, we’ll get something sorted

Dunkley - Sweet thanks

Dogs - oh sorry Dunks, We’re shutting talks down with Essendon so you can stay AND we’re gonna bring in another elite midfielder. Talk soon buddy ❤️

Two future 2nd round picks back was a bit much imo. One could've gotten the job done, or at most one 2nd round pick and one 3rd round pick.
Basically two 1st round picks and a possible slight upgrade (pick 20) on Essendon's future 2nd round pick which should be in the 20's and a 4th round pick, in exchange for Cameron & two future 2nd round picks.

In comparison, imo we paid more and got less back by giving up 2x 1st rounders and and 2x 2nd rounders, only to receive Kelly and 2x 3rd round picks.

True. But a couple of years older and on a bit more money as well.
Not to mention that they thought he would cost nothing till GWS matched so not the best outcome list management wise given the age of the squad

Would be interesting to know how far behind they were (maybe up to $1m over the cap?) And then how much of those salaries they are still paying (up to $500k?).

So moved on 4 players, have $500k spare but 4 rookies are what $300-320k (total)?

I'm not sure even after the fire sale that they can afford to chase free agents.

They get two second rounders tied to Essendon back, so they are effectively both late first rounders. Geelong didn’t cave at all, but at least a better result than FA
