Awesome!
That's the only word to describe the wonderful news that the senior group has lost respect for Thompson.

Some of the key points in the article.
'MARK Thompson's future at Geelong is under a cloud after key senior players and some of their managers told the club that the coach had lost the support of most of the team.'
'According to at least three prominent player managers, Thompson has lost the respect of players and has not helped his cause by poor communication skills with his team.'
'Key members of the leadership group and their managers, as well as senior club administrators, believe a full and frank confrontation between the coach and the team must take place after the season's final game against Hawthorn this weekend for the coach to have any hope of keeping his job next year.'
'Geelong president Frank Costa, a passionate Thompson supporter, has also become disenchanted with aspects of the coach's performance.'
'The club's long-time football manager, Garry Davidson, who was charged with drink-driving earlier this season, is also believed to have lost the respect of key senior players.'
'Geelong members will gather outside Telstra Dome at the Cats' final match of the year to gather more signatures to force an extraordinary general meeting.
Geelong member Rennis Witham told The Age: "We want the board to explain to the members what exactly happened this year and how they plan to fix it. We want something more concrete than a review."
'The members' group has already gathered 250 signatures — 150 more than required to force a meeting — and will seek more support at the Cats' VFL game at Port Melbourne on Saturday.'
Now you sit there and tell me that guy should stay on as coach. If after all of what we know, (which is basically that no one at the club even wants him) he stays head coach next season then Geelong is officially an absolute friggin disgrace. Players don't want him, Costa is losing faith, we sure as **** don't want him..... he is gone! Nothing can save him now! Looks like 2007 will be a step forward, i was really hating the fact i wasn't going to be a member next year....might buy a few memberships the day he is officially fired.
Food, alcohol and hookers at my place when he is sacked, come one, come all.
