I first remember him in 71/72 as well.I imagine a lot of footage of Tony Greig would have been covered by BBC, and time restraints wouldn't have allowed it. Maybe a DVD will be released in time showing more highlights such as his 13 wickets in a game, etc.
My first memories of Greig were with the World XI in Australia in 1971-72. I thought he was a South African player, I didn't realise he has qualified for England, and he played in the Ashes series of 1972.
It wasn't his batting or bowling that impressed, it was his in close fielding, often standing right on the edge of the pitch looking for a bat/pad tickle. In the 1972 Ashes series he impressed as a competant number 6 batsman, a wicket taking first change bowler, and capable slipper.
Come the 1974-75 Ashes series and he was a top order batsman, medium pacer, and occasional off spin bowler. He perfected the "up and under" shot and made many runs against the pace of Lillee & Thomson, getting under their skin.
Then in the 1975 Ashes, he became England captain and showed a flair for this role as well.
A highlights DVD would prove very interesting.

I propose that all ODI Series between Australia and England, or at least one of the matches, should be played for the Tony Greig Cup. His impact throughout most cricketing nations has been large, but particularly in these two countries, and I think that this would be a fitting tribute to him.
R.I.P. Greigy
Not if their family and friends post on BigFooty, no.
Otherwise I just post my thoughts.
Some of the video compilations posted here really make you appreciate how good/funny and a part of the australian summer he was.
Wow. Could never stand him, but still, wow.
