It is a curiosity that speaks to the culture of this board that there are prominent and very active threads discussing right wing pundits, but the same cant be said of more left leaning public commentators.

If a leftie pundit irks you start a thread! People may agree with you. They may not. That's the cut and thrust of a discussion forum though.

I think someone tried a thread on the Young Turks a while back. Wasn't very long lived.

The problem is, in order to produce content based on someone you disagree with, you actually have to consume the content of the person you disagree with. Were I to start a thread on Contrapoints - for example - you and others could attempt to consume her content, but when I've posted videos from her in the past people have refused to watch much past a few minutes in. Ditto with Unlearning Economics, which is quite meaty in terms of content. Shaun is likewise dismissed. There's a preference on the left for making longform content - whether we're talking analysis, response or otherwise - but even Innuendo Studios is ignored.

If you'd like to start a thread on anyone - provided it's within board rules - feel free.

Love how he has come out saying it's basically a socialist song.
It's a "the rich and powerful are out of touch and are screwing us" message that really doesn't need to be turned into a red vs blue partisan thing.

No, he's said he is amused that the Republicans sat there listening to it at their debate when it is about them.

But of course he has a shitty view on the unemployed and the social safety net, so it's more labourist than socialist.

He could have farmed the far right YouTube nutters for cash but he's given them a big fat raspberry.

It's a shiny little gem of entertainment to watch the righty weirdos not realise they are being insulted.

Awesome prank.

So you're one of the aforementioned "red team bad blue team good" partisans that want to make it a divisive thing rather than a uniting thing. I bet the youtube influencer who fed you this talking point is mighty proud!

I think his comments, and its general scattershot criticisms of people both richer and poorer than him, is emblematic of the ideological incoherence of the modern depoliticised world.

Yeah I think his explanation shows this. He seems to ignore the fact he shits on people in poverty.

The song is basically coherent - workers get paid s**t by rich owners, while the rich politicians steal from them and give their taxes to the unemployed.

Nice troll.

Listen to the lyrics.

Here's a YouTuber that agrees with ME:

You're welcome, friend. I live to share knowledge and wisdom.

Nailed it. From the 'body politic' that brings zingers like 'woke mega-corp = Communist' and 'Israel = literal Nazis' ('both sides' used for effect)

Not making sense seems baked in at this point.

I get that his comment about foodstamps being used by fatties to buy junk food is "punching down" (which is like kryptonite to lefties, no matter how warranted) but 90% of the lyrics were punching up.

Can you give cliffnotes pls boss? My jerk toddler ain't gonna allow me 20 min spare time to watch the pornstache douchebag in your video tell me how to think!
Which makes the GOP trying to do exactly that and getting smacked down by the singer all the funnier.
Yup and I loved to see it.

You're a strange guy Chief

Understand the bloke is going for a catchy title, but not sure using a joint like Richmond VA is appropriate for the
message he is trying to get across.
Or maybe it is.
