Apart from the line about "obese milking welfare" (and the overall country feel to the song) I don't understand the complaints about it being right wing. Maybe the reference to taxes being too high? Although in context it sounds more like a complaint that said taxes are lining the pockets of wealthy politicians who aren't helping their people.

Other than that it seems more like a song that the left would be fully on board with. Perhaps I'm thinking of the lefties of 20 years ago who actually cared about the working class!

It should be a centrist position for average people to dislike the political class enriching themselves via the system and not being in touch, let alone caring about the lives of regular people they purport to serve.

It's still a part of traditional liberalism to distrust the power structures that inherently become incubators for corruption, it's why anti monopoly laws have been around for a long time - but modern "post liberalism" subscribes more to the idea that whatever the power does is good as long it's the correct team wielding it and that's a very cleverly designed outcome of cultural dominance. No longer "anti boot" just anti the wrong people wearing it.

It's also why content like this song needs to be allocated to the other or otherwise invalid basket so as to not disturb that cultural dominance. Should enough people remember what occupy wallstreet was all about the politics of division that has sprung up since then (see media use of racism at +1200%) then the entire scam of corporate owned politicians serving their business masters could come crashing down and then what will the US do with all the weapons it makes etc.

You've spelt conservatism wrong.

Threads that are some of our most active, and when they appeared there were like conversations concerning their viability.
It is a curiosity that speaks to the culture of this board that there are prominent and very active threads discussing right wing pundits, but the same cant be said of more left leaning public commentators.
