We've gone for youth. :thumbsu:

Richmond will be conceding more than 1200 games experience when it takes on the Sydney Swans in Saturday’s NAB Regional Challenge practice match at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

The 25-man Tiger team contains nearly every young player on the Club’s senior list, plus rookies.

Captain Kane Johnson, a veteran of 180 AFL games, is the only player in the Richmond line-up with more than 100 games experience.

Andrew Krakouer, is the next most experienced with 93 games to his credit, followed by Chris Hyde with 69 appearances.

The likely Richmond line-up for Saturday’s match is:

B: King, Thursfield, Oakley-Nicholls
HB: Moore, Hughes, Meyer
C: Tambling, Johnson, Hyde
HF: Hartigan, Riewoldt, McGuane
F: Jackson, Schulz, Krakouer
R: Pattison, Deledio, Howat
IC: Foley, White, Edwards, Connors, Collins, Graham, Clingan

Why don't we all make a pact for no negative posts after this weekend, because realistically even if the Swans are only half strength we are gonna be *******ed. It will be good to see what the youngsters have got.

Is this good for memberships, 2 big losses early on? ;)

Start Foley in the guts. Hartigan up forward doesn't work. No Raines + Polo?

Good on ya though, Terry. Let the young boys play and lets see what they got.

You make quite a valid point there Sante.

We'll go alright with memberships... l actually am more excited about buying a membership seeing these young talent on display than being disillusioned at why we continue to persevere with blokes like Ray Hall.

Get on board, because regardless of the result, seeing this is bloody exciting! ;)

atleast with that team no one would of given a stuff about the game at geelong

yeh play all the kids in some rubbish game in canberra that you cant watch

great stuff rfc:thumbsd:

lol at hearing dale weightman say ray hall has been held back his entire career by niggling injuries he hasnt been able to get consistent form

if this is what the teachers at the club are thinking god help us

September 28th, 2011: Tigers win third consecutive Premiership. Tambling takes home Brownlow to join team mates Deledio and Raines as winners in the past three years. Richo says he will play on in 2012 after kicking 141 goals this year.

PLSC: Bloody typical RFC cr@p! Relying too much on a couple of stars and an old full forward to get results. There's no way we'll win four in a row with our midfield an average age of 25. We would be better off finishing last next year to top up on quality kids. We'll never be a true triple premiership team with Tivenfail in there (I can't believe he won his second Norm Smith - didn't anyone else see that forty metre pass that made Richo put his left hand out at full stretch!!! Hack!!!).

We should have won by over a hundred, but being the weak pricks we are we took our foot off the pedal and only cruised home to an embarrassing 97 point win.

Good one RFC - you're a cancer on yourselves and a boil on my ever spreading @rse! Hopeless!

I'm not sure there's that much to be gained from fielding such a lop-sided team, especially against such experienced opposition.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big supporter of building youth through the draft, it's something Richmond have ignored for most of the last twenty years but I'm not sure a hiding to nothing is going to show that much.

Either they get slaughtered and no one gets a sniff or the Swans back off and we don't get the real deal anyway. Sure ,one or two might show their hand through adversity but is it a good indicator all round?

Not saying we can't experiment but I think swapping three or four youngsters for more experienced players might allow us to do what we are supposed to , that is practice for Round 1.
I know Terry's unhappy about the Geelong performance but is this over-reacting? I can understand if the Swans agree to play all their youngsters too but not if there is such a gap.
Anyone who has played sport knows that there is a huge difference in intenisty between a close contest and a walkover.

Watch out for Connors. Showed some very special things in the VFL game last Sunday. Seems to be like Rodan except when he takes players on he actually gets around them, and then actually hits a target.

Personally I think that team looks pretty good. Yeah, we'll probably get thumped this weekend, but if we have that starting line up in three years time (finding room for Raines and Polo) we'll be winning more than we're losing.

Im all for this approach this early in the pre season and would have much preferred us to have had half that squad play last Sunday. No need to be exposing our stable of stars to injury when the real stuff is a month away. wrap in cotton wool, put them in the grandstand and have them spend the praccy matches signing autographs for the possee of schoolgirls that flock to these matches...then wheel out the big guns a week out from kick off....swans and collingwood have got it right...Nothing to be gained flogging thoroughbreds in February:rolleyes:

Gee P - that's pretty high praise coming from you.

You've gotta admit I had most of your signature nuances in there: unrealistically high expectations, blameing anything and everything on the club, getting negatives out of situations that 99% of us what consider positives, bagging Tiv.

You're not so much a glass half full/half empty kind of guy, as a "the glass was dirty and the beer was warm so I smashed it on some guy's head and now I've cut my hand and I'm gonna sue the Tigers for damages".

Love your work.

Don't like your posts? Man, I just said I love your work. I know you get confused when derailed from the single track of negative thought, but "I LOVE YOUR WORK" - that's pretty straight forward P.

And "laughable" - good. 'Coz I'm trying to be funny... at your expense.

look greg

just get over it and look forward to the next game when you can kick a few goals in the last quarter when the game is over and keep old traditions alive

good luck :thumbsu:

What happened did you forget to bag Tivers after last weekends game?? Or did I miss your intellectually enlightening post :o

No chance. Draftees and the like. Richo/Brown/Bowden's/Simmo/Cogs/Tuck/Newman will be there + more.
