Ried broken foot, Rocca Hamstring

Dawes, MacAffer and Anthony must all be under consideration for next round against Sydney. I tend to think they'd be less likely to debut a player at Telstra Stadium, so Anthony is probably the frontrunner.

you sure. i think a certain Martin Clarke may be an example to prove that theory wrong. Thats crap that they worry about where players debut. Wellingham made his debut on Anzac day ffs. I think dawes could be a real chance. Then again fraser may be back. Presti could also come back to push brown forward.

Less likely =/ absolutely. ANZAC Day is played in Melbourne, not Telstra Stadium, so I'm not sure where you're going with that one anyway. I wouldn't think Presti would be back so soon, but I would have said the same about Rocca before the break (and the hamstring). Don't know how Reid is going to be pushed forward when he's broken his foot.

This Cost us that Bloody Game:mad:

Rocca achilles/ankle

Looks like it could be over for the big man. serious ankle/achilles injury. It seems like his body hasnt been able to stand up in the latter stages of his career.

He's been very unfairly maligned in the last couple of years, but i think he's been good for us this season when he's been fit. Sad if he doesnt get to go out on his own terms.

____ thought it was his hamstring.

tonight proved once again that he is a needed player, if not the most important player in the side.

sad way for it to finish if its true

Yep, they're saying on SEN it could quite possibly be a season ending if not career ending injury to Pebbles....

I'm very very shattered....I've always been one to stand by Rocca when everyone else sitting around me bags the crap out of him...

Love ya Anth..and I pray it's not the last we see of you on the footy field..

Yep I always love having him in the side, he always does what he can and is judged too harshly when he is clearly injured. I hope he comes back this season as this is not the way he should go out. We are having a shocking run with injury over the last few weeks. Will we have any forwards left at seasons end?

Reid is a footballer who cant kick as he proved once again today.

His injury actually helped us get in front today.

Rocca's demise showed how much we rely on him.

ment to say brown, fixed it up straight away anyway. I'm just saying collingwood players have made their debut at ANZ stadium before and MM has stated in the past that players need to stand up in the big games in front of the big crowds or else he discredits them as finals players.

his injury happend way to early on to know whetehr or not he would of provided any support.

All it meant was rocca had to stay on for longer periods as did nbryan and wood.

I'll pay that, but I still think that Anthony is the most ready of the three main options, unlike MacAffer he doesn't have to be elevated off the rookie list to play, and the fact that he has already debuted should give him the edge for selection.

:eek::(
cfc.com said Rocca injured his ankle......
Anyway, when I got home tonight (wasn't able to listen/watch the game) my Dad siad that Reid had done his shoulder.... obviously he got it wrong lol.
This is ____en terrible news. Just what we need, another 2 injuries....:thumbsd: It feels like this season is just all falling in a heap.....:(

Disappointing for Reid, wouldve played at least another 4 or 5 senior games this year, but hopefully this just puts his development back a tiny bit, and he has a strong pre season.

As for Rocca, seems he's just feeling the pin/plate inserted into his leg to re attach his achilles, christ that must hurt at times.

Anyway, dont think he's gone yet, another 4-5 week break and he will be given one more chance, to be honest though, dont like his chances.

If it is the last we see of him, I'd just like to say what a great servant he has been, and I will always remember the 2002 GF performance, when on a wet day he would have won the game for us had it not been for that injury 1/2 way through the last quarter (ironically).

Thanks Pebbles.
