Wanted to watch the diving, but Channel 7 were showing a Triathalon, an entire round of womens golf, and a basketball match. Channel 7 wanted to charge $20 to watch the Olympics, so with VPN watched the BBC Coverage online for free. Soo much better than 7's joke of coverage

Basheer is the Basil Zemplis of world football. im almost tempted to turn off when i hear his monotone droning about nothing.
never gives any insight, just likes to say names followed by a useless stat totally unrelated to the action.

even after doing this for years his understanding of football appears to be minimal at best. i hate SBS for ever hiring him

Worst is when SBS has Basheer commentating Champions League games obviously in front of a TV in Sydney.

The commentating duos for the men’s and women’s basketball couldn’t have been further apart. The men’s is led by Casey, who knows his stuff and is passionate about the game, and his sidekick is Gaze who just loves the game and has been such a memorable part of these games. Whereas the women, the main guy isn’t overly knowledgeable, is dull and boring, and he’s supported by Lauren Jackson who seems totally disinterested, and the fact that she’s not cut out for the media. Just because someone is a legend of their sport doesn’t equate to being a good media personality, take the Cathy Freeman disaster for example. Hopefully we’ve got two new callers come Tokyo because the women’s games were painful to listen to.

I would not be surprised if seven got death threats and snipers at the window. This coverage is/was woeful, made me want to self destruct. Show me sports that actually represent the Olympics, and not the same crap i see every weekend. Team sports(most) need to be cut.
