I'm not totally surprised, he is a pure midfielder. Would have won the award in a canter if he could play his role all year.

Curtin being a second year player for mine loses points for mine, Reid or Ashcroft for me. Ashcroft wins but are identical could be the best of the lot.

He has been legit good for nine weeks. Ever since he got the nomination in round 13 he has been excellent.
His highest level games have been higher than anyone else. He has 20 coaches votes to Reids 15, while Adhcroft has none.

Coaches votes are highly subjective. Look at Nick Daicos for example. Fly gives him votes just for being Nick.

I'd say O'Sullivan is also one who's pretty much produced 'all season'. Especially given he's playing well above his pay grade as a critical KPD component at age 19-20.

Reid has had one of the best scoring seasons for a first year player in a long time, as has been said, only Cyril Rioli has produced similar in recent times, he's the clear winner, the kid has the footy IQ of a 150-200 game player already, just pure class.

I think last week's games might have given the RS to Reid. It was pretty close, and Curtins quiet game against the Eagles might have dropped him back.
