Very impressed with Shepherd as far this season - isn't about time he got a RS nomination? Let's hope he has a good game at Subi on Saturday and puts his name right there in front their noses - whoever they be that make these judgments.

This award has lost its presence this season imo. I have no idea why but its simply not being advertised as much as the last few years.

Hasn't really had any explosive BOG performances this season. Who cares about the award though, as long as he turns out to be a good pick in 8-10 years I'll be ecstatic.

Yes, I think he's a good player already who's going to get better and should have been nominated by now. I think he's probably better than a number of those nominated, e.g. not sure how Davis (Adelaide) got nominated last week although Shep had one of his quieter games last week. The judges seem to base it both on season form and the weekend's game (I think the criteria seem somewhat erratic) with a good dose of ES bias thrown in for good measure. It doesn't really matter, although it's good to have your good players recognised (e.g Lecras).

its hard to get rising star noms when you dont win often...

case in point: travis colyer

Gary Ablett never got a nomination. It doesn't mean anything. Shep is already a solid player and will be a very good player for us in the future.

Got no vision up here. How is Shep going and who is he playing on? Heard his name mentioned a lot, but see on the stats that he's had 7 possessions.
Is he having a good game?

I just hope he isn't pigeon-holed into the back pocket position because that would be a waste of his talents.

I dont think he is.
Betts is clearly Carltons most dangerous forward.

Shep was paid a huge compliment being played on betts.

He showed grit and real class at times.
