I think Duursma is becoming my favourite player. He used to be a bit of an x-factor player at Port but he’s just so dependable and reliable on a weekly basis. Great overhead, terrific tank, courageous. He’s been awesome for us.

Quite pleasing overall. It’s too much to expect a young team like that to work their butts off from 6 goals down and somehow claim victory. That will come hopefully.

For anyone who is still finding excuses for Perkins and Hobbs, Lual played an objectively and subjectively better game than both of them. That’s a guy who most thought would be first on the scrap heap come year’s end without ever getting a crack at it. Lual played his role exactly the way his coaches would’ve asked. Big thumbs up for him giving us a seriously disciplined game.

Merrett's efforts in the 3rd pretty much got us back into the game so I have no idea why we'd strand him up forward for the final quarter. We needed him around the ball as much as possible.

This is our biggest issue and has been for over a decade.

Good to see Roberts, Johnson etc. are good users of the ball which might take us forward in this area.

This win for Carlton should feel like our wins over Eagles/Norf/Tigers ... you win, but you don't feel good about it. Felt like a total replay of the Brisbane game where the poor start killed us. We would have won if we were full strength. Hell, we would have won if we were half way between where we are and full strength. But by the same token, a good time would have put us to the sword tonight.

Getting real sick of Hobbs, Perkins, Gresham, Prior etc... we have a lot of passengers, I just hope that when we are talking about not having the right cattle its these names we are looking to turn over. But the fact we re-signed Jones who I would put in that group doesn't fill me with the most hope.
