In what world were Perk & Prior better?

Gresham's 2nd half was good IMO.
Outside of a lucky goal he was pretty poor. Way too selfish. In what world was he better?

This win for Carlton should feel like our wins over Eagles/Norf/Tigers ... you win, but you don't feel good about it. Felt like a total replay of the Brisbane game where the poor start killed us. We would have won if we were full strength. Hell, we would have won if we were half way between where we are and full strength. But by the same token, a good time would have put us to the sword tonight.

Getting real sick of Hobbs, Perkins, Gresham, Prior etc... we have a lot of passengers, I just hope that when we are talking about not having the right cattle its these names we are looking to turn over. But the fact we re-signed Jones who I would put in that group doesn't fill me with the most hope.
Might be an unpopular opinion…how long do we realistically give these young guys to cement their spots in the best 22…I don’t know the answer to this btw…

I remember Hobbs being stuck in the VFL last year and we were all wondering what was going on…this year it’s Tsatas and in 2023 for a period it was Perkins (iirc)…there’s looks to be a pattern of making them earn it…they will be inconsistent at times because they’re young…they must be doing what they’re being asked to do and Perk being subbed meant that he probably was not doing what he was supposed to.

I probably don’t analyse games enough but watching games in real time I’m more worried about McGrath and Parish after 10 years of experience way before I’m worried about Perk (4.5 seasons) Hobbs (3.5) and Tsatas (2.5).

Maybe 1 or 2 will be busts…I get the current criticism…but I’m probably not ready to call it just yet.

Lav, Goldy Jaxon all are great until they have to chase arse. No one should ridicule them either. They are our break out of glass players so show them respect! They are trying their best and it’s not there fault if it’s not good enough.

The thing that angers me the most is not the skillls it’s the effort. Love how after qtr time we are more combative but why is it missing at the start?

I tell you what I don’t have half the ability of some of these players but if you put a football between me and them I would win it!

I'm not a fan of his normally because he looks like his body won't let him play but Setterfield was awesome. Great game.

Caldwell back to his best, really looks like it took him a while to trust that hamstring again.

Duursma has been really solid for us. Ultra dependable, would like Clarke to be on the other wing, didn't like him in defence, felt he got exposed.

Duz, will get a well deserved suspension to rest that ankle. Yes he hit him in the head, yes he bumped him, who gives a shit the guy didn't have a concussion the act is not on, take your red and black glasses off if you think otherwise.
That dropped mark in the last killed us, needs to be better than that.

Johnson looked great and I think is a player that looks better in a team with better targets and runners.

Guelfi has some good moments but is such a limited player. His spot may be one of the last players that is upgraded but it needs to be.

Caddy has got to be better at judging the ball, was completely uncompetitive at times. Not a great game after the Brissy game but maybe a bit of a down to earth moment after the highs of last week.

McGrath. Whatever, doesn't matter he ain't leaving this side and he ain't suddenly becoming a better player.

Parish, first game up, absolute rubbish. Fumbled, couldn't kick, no physicality around the ball, gave horrendous efforts and at the start literally watched as Walsh ran off him to a monster start to the game.
First up after a spell I'd be normally inclined to give a player an out but it's largely what he's been most of his career so I assume a few more of those performances and he will land an extension.

Wright, battled really hard after an abysmal start, just keep it up big fella. I don't know if you are the guy for our future but it's good to see you come back from what I thought was you being pretty much done at AFL after getting dropped.

Fightback was good, first quarter was very poor. I think nearly every player had an absolute howler which was not good.

Yeah nah, he was fine. 10 clearances next best Durham 6?, 2 clangers vs 14 from our other mids. He has also never been that physical, why are you now calling him out?

Very excited about our young players.

Second week in a row we came back to be in the game in the 4th quarter instead of capitulating.

Ordinary 1st quarter was the difference, but we won the last 3 quarters

Johnson’s kicking is fantastic

Lual wasn’t out of place in his debut game so there’s hope

This.

So much less

Use Less
Gut Less
Heart Less
Spine Less

As per usual we are ****ing hope less.

Not even going to give them credit for fighting back. Show up to play from the first bounce or **** off.
You’re clueless. We kicked 10 of the last 14 goals. Hell of an effort with half a team out and so many inexperienced players

In every world in the universe was he better. Hence why Perkins was subbed off and not Gresham

I call him out most times he plays poorly,
I said he played exactly like he always has, largely ineffectual with glaring weaknesses to his game.

But I guess he got 31 disposals and had 10 clearances so it was a good game.

If you think he played well and contributed greatly then that's fine.

that pointless score review in the third completely killed our momentum. Not to mention the rushed behind call that never gets paid against any other teams in the comp
The strange part there is that if it did go over the line, it's 10x worse than Martin's in the 1st quarter. Yet there'd be no ability to make that call after the adjusted score? Weird.

Almost doubled their combined possessions.

Agree, he is selfish and turns his back on play too much but agree to disagree on this one!
I agree. Gresham had had some good moments tonight. Perkins was a liability. Gresham, at times generated momentum for the team. Don’t mind a bit hungriness around goals but he needs to be a better decision-maker or he’ll be on the outer very quickly.
