Won't be a high scoring game, but I think the rain will suit us. Vince, van Berlo, Thommo and Porps are all great mud-runners. 5+ goals easily.

I think we will win easily. I'd hope for a 10 goal win regardless of the conditions. (melb are shite and probably no better than a combined Centrals/North Adelaide team)

For mine - what will happen:
Out: Shirley (its over), Maric
In: Jacky, griffin

What I'd like:
Out: Shirley (it's REALLY over), Doughty
In: Griffin, Jacky

Could we also see another debut? perhaps McKernan after a pretty good showing last weekend and back at his former 'home'?

I'm also getting a bit over Reilly, his form has been really average and is really diappointing. I was hoping to see the form he showed at the start of last season before the injury. Perhaps a run at Sturt would help?

Because its going to be wet, I highly doubt this is going to be the week we bring in Griffin - unless its a straight swap for Maric.
I think that Jacky will come in for Shirley, and thats all :thumbsu:

You're kidding right?

Radar got of to a slow start in our 1st 2 games, but has been great patrolling the defence in the last 2 games. His game on Tarrant after Stevo was injured & directing play against Freo was showcasing his talent, which he has teased us with in doses. Would be crazy to drop him now.

You know he's not playing in the midfield like previous seasons? He has probably the best footskills in the team and did some really nice things vs Geelong. Viney's influence see's us have our best kickers on the half back line a la Hodge. He's doing fine and doesn't need a SANFL run.

He was in our best players last week.....
I'm over this bashing of him - he's not in the midfield anymore, so people aren't noticing him as much as they used to, so they just assume he's doing badly.

We can only thank the dear lord that DJ75 doesn't have a drafting or

selection role with the Adelaide team.

Trade Knights, Reilly's no good!!

Pffft!!

Heck, I'm one of Reilly's biggest critics and I still gave him a vote in the POTY for the Geelong game. He needed to lift after a poor showing against St Kilda and bad first half against Freo. Since then he has improved considerably. Dal Santo being in Brownlow contention has put the onus onto Reilly (in our eyes at least) to improve.

We should win this pretty easily in a wet, sometimes sloppy contest. I feel like the Porpoise as well as Walker and Tippett will have a field day in the forward line and should kick a good number of goals between them. I also can't imagine anyone from Melbourne kicking more than 2 goals seeing as Brad Green is out.

Crows by about 40+ points.

Don't take us lightly, the win against the tiges will put the boys on a high and build confidence amoung the group. U guys have prob one of the best backlines and still have a pretty good midfield, but wat u guys lack is a good ruck and forward line. Our rucks are doin well at the moment and our forward line is gettin better wit Miller, Newton, Petterd, Bate, Jetta and Sylvia.

As for someone not scoring anymore then 2 goals for us well u ave to be joking, I mean we ave Miller and Newton who scored 3 and 2 goals last week and Jetta who scored 2 against Port and Sylvia who scored 2 last week and dont forget Bate and Davey.

We ave Mclean, Jones, Moloney, Bruce and Junior who may be a inclusion this week in the middle. So dont expect it easy that's all. Remeber it is at the G and in the wet as it is goin to be RAIN, HAIL, WINDY AND 14 on sunday in Melbourne and tht gives anyone a chance in those conditions.

Mike Sheehan, is that you?

And FWIW, you're lead ruckman is one of our rejects;)

We were small last week so height in the wet shouldn't be a problem.

I'd love to see Jack and Griffin in.

Walker goes nowhere!

NOWHERE!

ARRRRH!

If Stevens comes in could Walker be the one to be cut?

Distinct possibility I'd say.
Walker's defensive pressure wasn't up to scratch against Geelong, and he was pretty clearly dragged for it on at least one occasion in the 4th. Given Craigy's obsession with Tex getting that aspect of his game up to scratch, and the talk that he was going to be dropped for the Saints game before Stevens pulled out, it won't surprise me at all to see Walker out.

It will, however, ruin my week.

I for one will lead the assault on West Lakes if Walker is dropped for anything other than an injury.

Pitchfork & plank of wood on fire at the ready!

Defensive pressure can lick my ass, seriously, let's recall Luke 'Mad Dog, Power Running' Jericho to do that for us then.

If we take a guy who next to Porps is our only legitimate pure forward i'll loose my head.

Or maybe we can recall another tagger and not use them in a tagging role as well.

This is my feelings on this game to we should win but this will the game where Melb kick 3 or 5 before we settle

It will destroy mine, but saying that they could counter it by bringing in say a Jacky and allowing Walker to play for Norwood.

Most of us seem to be in agreement that we handled Walker correctly last season, and that he's a better player for it. Is there any chance that by leaving him in the team despite his deficiencies, we're instilling bad habits in him that will be harder to get rid of later on in his career? By all reports Walker has a great attitude, but he clearly needs to work on what he does when the opposition have the ball. He can be pretty lazy, particularly with his chasing. For the sake of his development, are we better off dropping him despite his good form to really send home a strong message that he needs to get his act together? Once he becomes the 50+ goal forward he's looking more and more likely to be, it might not be so easy to teach him the value of hard work off the ball, and dropping him might not go down so well then with him, whereas he may be more motivated to learn from it now.

We don't know whether he'll be dropped yet or not, of course, but if it happens, I'm just trying to find Craigy's POV. Make no mistake, I'll also be pissed if he's dropped. Footy seems so much more exciting when he's in the team.

As far as I'm concerned, if Walker is kicking 2 goals a game then he needs to play a full season. Blokes like Riewoldt, Franklin, Roughhead, Pavlich etc. were given two full seasons before they were technically "ready" (by this, I mean ready to dominate the competition). There's no point in playing Walker for 4 games, where he kicks 7 or 8 goals and creates a genuine spark, and then drop him. If he has 4 games in a row where he doesn't kick a goal then fair enough. But until that happens, he plays.

Chasing is attitude, he'll develope that at the sme rate regardless if he's in the SANFL or AFL. He needs as much top line footy as possible.

There's always a chance he'll be dropped, but he's been far from our worst.
