Opinion Robbo Top 50

Mate this is a forum? Not sure what point you're trying to prove here. Bad day?

I wrote Hurley probably deserves a spot and you've lost it :joycat:

Not to get in the middle of you and the poster but Robbo is making a prediction. He's simply saying Hurley won't be top 50 by end of the year. He's not rating players as at today.

Same with all the comments around Petracca...he just thinks that Petracca will become a gun by years end.

And I do feel somewhat dirty for defending Robbo.

I know it's hard to believe great players exist outside the Victorian bubble but they do.
He's making a prediction though. Perhaps Gray turning 32 in a couple of weeks is playing into prediction? I mean this whole VIC bubble thing is boring now. There are 10 teams in VIC, you'd expect the majority of top 50 players to be from VIC. He also has 9 of the top 20 from non VIC teams, which is a greater percentage than the teams split would suggest would be the case.

So basically your vicbias dribble isn't warranted here.

It's a prediction. Not put off at all if Hurn isn't in the list, if Robbo thinks he won't be a top 50 player by the end of the year that's an entirely reasonable opinion to hold.

Don't see many people posting their own top 50 to get savaged by others.

And what's with Petracca? Is his inclusion based on one Marsh Community game in 2020? His 2019 doesn't justify inclusion
Agree. And then it'll be blokes like Robbo that turn on Petracca when he doesn't live up to these unrealistic expectations, claiming what a let-down the bloke is and how much unfilled talent is being wasted. That's Robbo's expectations, not the majority of the footy world's.

I’m a very passionate Doggies member, and I love the Bont, but there’s no way he’s no.1 until he fixes his goalkicking woes. He has the potential to be the best, and I believe he will win 2 Brownlows in his career, but he has to fix his goal kicking

Lynch at 8, McRae at 17, and Naughton at 34 are way too high.
Walters at 23, Brown at 33, and Greene at 40 are too low.

He had Charlie Cameron at 16 in 2019, has his best ever year, and now he's down at 35? Makes no sense.
Now that Franklin is way past his best, Naughton is the most exciting key forward in the game next 5 years, 34 is too low. How many kicks did Shaun Higgins get in the state game? Doesn’t like big games, never has.

Sicily 20 spots above back to back AA Tom Stewart, is nuts to me.

Nuts is probably a bit strong. Sicily missed out on AA in 2018 due to injury and was regarded by many as the best performing player in his role when he went down. Last year was a 50/50 call between Stewart and Sicily and I honestly believe that if their teams swapped positions it would have gone the other way.

Robbo is also predicting for the year ahead and anticipates that Sicily will have more freedom to do what he does best (intercept and rebound) as Hawthorn now have 2 key defenders down back and plenty of key forwards (Sicily was often asked to man the oppositions FF/CHF and was thrown forward as well due to team needs in 2019).

I personally think that Stewart and Sicily have been neck and neck the last 2 seasons and that will likely continue regardless of team dynamics in 2020 (rather than one jumping ahead as Robbo is predicting).

Haha, hence why they shouldn't be 20 spots apart! I do agree Sicily has been one of the other premier rebounding half backs - Hurn, Whitfield, Houli etc. - but having him 20 spots above Stewart, is probably a bit ridiculous given they are 'neck and neck' as you say. Especially, when rightly or wrongly, Stewart does have the accolades next to his name.

22 disposals. 4 more than the Bont, 5 more than Macrae

Honestly saw him get his first kick early 2nd qtr and thought he wasn’t playing till that point, he’s a good player but doesn’t stand up in big games I’m afraid

Along time ago now, but he was close to our best player in the 2009 finals series.
