Pull yourself together.

I know it's exciting to win a game but this thread is about the best players in the competition this year.

Fogarty has been in our second best player so far this season. There are 40 spots in the squad to be shared over 18 teams at 2.22 spots per team on average. I don’t think it is far fetched to suggest a sides second best player could be in the running for the squad, especially at this early stage.

3 games in ffs. There will be some outliers.

I feel like I've sufficiently acknowledged that about Gawn.
tbf I agree

I was trying to compliment NN

I always thought he was over rated but the last 24 months I have changed my opinion. He is like a Cyril Rioli where his 12-15 touches are worth 30 of a normal player.

My only knockon him is if he had a tank he could do what Gawn does around the ground if not more

imo Gawn is the number 1 ruck, NN is close (but I can see why people have NN at no 1) then there is Grundy, then there is ****ing infinite daylight to the next

Outside of the big 3 (ignoring current season form), you can probably throw in the likes of O'Brien, Witts and Lycett, but they are way behind and not that far ahead of all other primary ruckmen outside of Melbourne, WC and Collingwood.

You could also argue NN's weakness is because he is more effective when used in bursts. Both Gawn and NN though are ruckmen all list managers would trade their left nut for.

agree

Imagine how devistating NN what be with a tank to impact contested around the ground like he does centre clearances

So who had Taylor Walker at CHF and Josh Bruce at FF in their pre season sides?

Honestly will be a 50/50 again as to who will start.
Naitanui is a more influential player in ruck contests, which should by definition be the #1 criteria.

The ruck is still a genuine 1 on 1 contest. Dominating there should count for more than finding it around the ground.
