Why didn't Scharanberg get drafted? We had a spot on the list after we took Waterman and from what little I've heard he would have been a good late draft selection but we passed. Worry about his durability because of his brother maybe?

Isn't Strnadica the one who people this year were saying would lose to Hannath in a foot race?
From the little I've heard I'd love to get Le Bois and give Sproule and Guelfi a chance as well. Hoping we can get Francis Watson as a Cat B. Can we do that with Daniel Cox as well?

Yeah - not saying he WILL develop into a Lobb - it's just that he looks to be a ruck/fwd that is a good mark and good shot on goal. Olango looks a freakish athlete but doesn't look like he knows how to play footy. Both are 'project' ruckmen.

Guelfi, Grewer (or some other mature aged mid), McInerney/Marshall and one of Grey/Deluca for me. If we take a next generation player as well I'd be keen but nothing's been said in the media so perhaps the club isn't keen.

Hopefully get another developing ruckman and a few small/medium forwards in a few hours to top off some good recruiting this off season
That would be Tony Olango and he will be snapped up pretty quickly I think.
No interest in an 18 year old ruck from me. We just drafted one.
After next year I'd expect to still have Clarke but maybe not Griffin or Sandilands. I wouldn't expect Darcy or any 18 year old ruck available today to compete competently at AFL level in 2018. All either have a lot way to go with fitness and/or weight. We'll have to trade in another one almost no doubt but McInerney or Marshall would give us another option in 2018 and could be just as likely to make and/or be as good as the 18 year old rucks left over.

I know and I don't see how drafting 18 year old rucks who'll take 3-4 years to be ready is any sort of solution.
Get McInerney, Marshall or just trade next year for me.

THE PRE-SEASON DRAFT
THE 2017 pre-season draft will start first at 4PM on Monday 28 November.
The pre-season draft is an extension of the national draft, so all players taken must go onto the club’s primary list.
THE ROOKIE DRAFT
BETWEEN the final pre-season draft selection and first rookie draft pick, clubs with academies or potential father-son selections have the ability to select those players, without fear of another club outbidding them. In other words, there is no bidding system.
The order for the rookie draft is the reverse of the AFL ladder at the end of the finals series.

I hope we take Zach Sproule in the pre season draft, because we can't get him in the rookie draft (gws academy).

We have the first pick, so we must have room on our list.
His bro at the pies isn't the only family member to do an ACL. He's a big medical risk, but I'd say worth a rookie spot.
I'm on the Strnadica bandwagon too. If Clarke leaves at the end of next year we're going to need a replacement anyway, may as well start training them up now & giving us options

I was wondering what time the draft is today, keenly awaiting to see who we pick. Should be 2pm our time, as we are only 2 hours behind AEST. I am all for picking up another ruckman in the draft, despite them being 'project players.' Some insurance for FFC post Sandilands (and possibly Clarke and Griffin) is required for mine.

Ah shoot for real? Seems like Google is not the be all and end all. Had a squiz and only had the 2 hour time difference. Much obliged. Just going to watch the clock now and twiddle my thumbs.
Well I assume it's happening in Sydney like the main draft. Definitely daylights savings here in ACT/NSW. If it's in melb I'm not sure when they start.
