Is There Anyone Worth Picking Up That We Should Keep A Close Eye On???

There are still a few good players out there. Everyone on this forum will have there favourites but we will have to see who Carlton get to train with them to get the greatest idea of who they will pick up. I believe Williams and Johnston will be training with them.

It said on the Carlton fc website that we would be inviting both boys to train with us if they weren't picked in the national draft. It's in the aritcle that talks about us not taking any father sons

Leigh Adams, Lachlan George or Nathan Batsanis with pick 1 hopefully.

Leigh Adams, Dean Kelly and Nthan Batsanis are the three best left imo.

Adams was injured which hampered his chances i guess.

Batsanis has already been contacted by a club strongly looking at picking him in the pre season draft (who can do this out of interest)
&
Dean Kelly has over 6 clubs wanting him to train with them.

If we got two of these three id be over the moon... they all have potential to be on lists for A long time!

hope we go for batsanis,he starred. kelly starred in the grand final too, but he wouldnt be able to keep it up in the afl, he relied on out bodying players as he is well built for an under 18s player, but would have a long way to go in order for it to work in the afl. does anyone know if fortuna caruso (i think that was his name) got picked up (morrish medal winner 2 yrs in a row)? even with his small height, for a kid that dominated he could be worth a rookie spot

Perhaps not with pick 1, but I would also consider Caolan Buckley from SA as well. Good in-and-under midfielder. At 181cm and 85kg, might very well be worth a spot on our rookie list.

Batsanis really impressed me in GF, his left foot kicking was a feature he easily kicked 55m+. We don't have a lot of players who kick with penetration.

I wish...but he is too young for PSD or Rookie drafts.

If only we used pick 83 on him...

Next year is his year.

Im not sure how rookie draft works but I think that Prismall is too young for it...however watching him play as a bottom age player would be the best bet IMHO, I wish we had taken him at 81 instead.

Watched all these boys play... Both Kelly and Batsanis were super impressive in the TAC GF. From memmory Kelly kicked 6 goals. He is an intersting one. Not sure of his exact hight, but around 182? mark. Sometimes plays like a tall forward, muscling out opponents for marks. Sometimes plays like a small forward and is smart around goals, kicks them from nowhere. One would think that he would be better suited because of smarts and size to a midfield role, but looks like he owns the forward 50.

Batsanis along with McKay looked the too players in the chargers outfit that turned the game around. Has a very penetrating accurate kick. Travels about 40meters, not sure how much further he can kick. Provided great deliver to forwards from mid/ hbf and set up goals.

Leigh Adams is one who I dont understand wasnt picked up. Bad year for Vic Metro I suppose. Great winger/ midfielder with solid skills and good footy smarts. Shows great leadership material and was rightly so the captain of Metro.

I'd be extatic with either 3 of these boys but I have huge faithin in Hughes and co. Did great job rookie drafting with FLint and Jackson...absolute steals IMHO.
