Chris Smith is still on the rookie list. So Macca is the vet outside the main list, and Smith is the only rookie at the moment, meaning we have 4 picks.

So we have 6 spot with McManus taking up one of them is that correct?

So 5 spots.

Griffiths? or does he go Mature age rookie? or PSD?
McGinnity?
Bellchambers?
Clayton and Dunn?

Now we have the K man Mourish would surely be surplus to requirements?

Don't care how we do it but I want to see him in purple, tagger who hurts the oppisition going the other way is gold in my mind.

I reckon we should go:

PSD: Griffiths
Rookie 1: McGinnity
Rookie 2: Bellchambers / Sullivan / Mulligan
Rookie 3: Collard (worth persisting with for another 12 months to see if he can turn the attitude around IMO)
Rookie 4: Dunn (if he's there)

Bye bye to the Shadowman.

Of course considering just how far off the mark we were with today's draft, there's no way it will pan out like this.... :o

Aren't we obligated to rookie both Collard and Mourish?

No.

AFAIK, it's like this:

They (along with Dunn) have been cut with a year to run on their current contracts, so we have to pay them out if we don't re-list them, and that it is then included on the 2008 TPP.

If we rookie them, then we just pay them whatever we are paying them (more than a rookie wage), and that also is obviously included in the 2008 TPP.

If they are picked up by someone else, we must pay the difference between their new contract and what they were getting from us. Their new contract will be less than what we are paying them because they will get a rookie wage from their new club. That difference is included on our TPP for 2008.

As Dunn is on his second contract with us, it would appear that he will cost us the most "financially" if he is either not picked up by us, or goes elsewhere, as he will be getting more than a draftee wage... That would mean, I guess, from a List Management / TPP POV, he would be the most likely to get rookied by us. Just a guess.

They could do far worse than give Miles from Swan Districts a chance. Has all the qualities to develop into a top player.

Isn't dunn too old to be rookie listed? I though the cut off was 21? he'd be 22 in 2008? and as he has play at least one AFl game he can't be considered as a mature age rookie?

Dunn would be a big chance to go to Carlton in the pSD wouldn't he?

I think we should go;
Bellchambers or Connolly in the PSD,
McGinnity,
Collard,
Dennis - Lane,
Mourish.

However, I think you're right IP, we will unfortunately end up with Griffiths.:thumbsd:

I just want us to pick up the 3 we got rid of earlier. Dunn, Collard and Mourish.
Dunn and Collard if they get picked elsewhere will bite us right on the ass. And Mourish i can see from all i have heard becoming another Dion Woods if he isnt picked up so i hope we try again with him.

I think the cut-off for rookie listing is turning 23 by 30 Sept, 2008. Dunn will turn 23 on 7th Oct, so he sneaks in by a week.
