THose Saints are an enigma. You look at their list, they look a $1M. But they always lose...

They are playing quality opposition though. ;)

We finally having our kicking boots on this week.

The Roos win by 44 points.Thought we were going down at Half Time. A great revival in the 3rd Qtr and a good finish in the last.

I just don't understand what the supporters have done to deserve these performances week in week out, year in year out. This is the second match i have missed this year (along with the Essendon one) and it sounds like i did myself a favour. Unfortunately our club will fold and die within three years. No heart, no guts - p*** weak.:(

Come on you are being a bit hard on them... young kids will alway perform erratically... just give it a couple of years...

Well done to the Roos. You have to admire them-a well run, managed, expertly coached side with players who break their backs to win. And who rarely, if ever, disappoint their supporters.

Now if only the expensive rabble (I was going to say cheap-but that isn't true) that wears the red, white and black could take a leaf out of their book. With a few notbale exceptions-the attitude on display left a lot to be desired.

we cant still be blaming injuries.....had a good side?

No more excuses - Most dissapointing loss of the year. North played well in the 2nd half but the Saints were terrible. Lost all cohesion and faith in themselves as soon as Pagan made a couple of changes.
Really pathetic stuff Saints.

Congrats North - well played and ran it out beautifully. I wish my side had the same guts and will to win as the Shinboners.

Rooboy 96 - yes the Saint supporters are being hard on them but two points
1) A young side will be erratic, but usually from game to game, not quarter to quarter.
2) It was Norths young players who won them the game, so youth cant be used as an excuse by St.Kilda.

Heads must roll. Some of the high paid players need a good kick up the rrrrsss. It is embarrassing when it is left to the likes of Swarze, McGuire, Wulf to try and turn things around in the second half.
Gehrig, Hamill, Everitt, and Lawrence should hang their heads in absolute shame with that effort.

Now before everyone s. hitcans me for jumping offthe Saints, I will defend my side against unwarranted critisism, and have done so all year. But when you have your best side in except for Max and Kosi and they capitulate the way they did yesterday, their is no defence.

And Shiek - On yesterdays effort, i'm afraid you are spot on.

Well once again I pose the thought that Spider and now Fraser Gehrig are very tradeable. My agenda for the rest of the season is to gather some momentum to cast these two dead woods out to sea, due to the fact that Gehrig and Everitt are perenial underachievers. A few good games between now and then doesn't warrant an exemption just because of the person's reputation. This club is heading forward, those not willing to pull their weight in the bad times should not be given the opportunity to ride other's coat tails.

Don't lose faith. I thought there were some good signs for the Saints in the first half. I was really worried we were going to lose and you guys really had a great system going. Hopefuly, the longer the youngsters get they will become more consistant throughout a match. Missing Loewe and Harvey with various niggling injuries throughout the game really hurt you too.

A very positive win for the future of the Roos though. Our young players were terrible last week, but they turned it around this week.

Also, I thought Makepeac getting onto of Milne was a major factor in our victory. Milne is a very exciting player who can kick those "magic" goals from nothing and has to be closely guarded.

Hats off to Denis Pagan for persisting with him after half time because he was simply sensational.

Yes Fraser Gehrig had a terrible game yesterday.

How many possessions and goals did his direct opponent Sav Rocca have yesterday?

4 kicks, 2 handballs, 2 marks and 0 goals.

Considering the ball was coming into our backline with such regularity in the second half it was a very good effort.

For a player who in his first season for the club was runner up in the best and fairest and this season has only played 4 game because of injury, calling Fraser Gehrig an underachiever is ridiculous.

As for our teams performance yesterday, I'd agree with Joffaboy that it was our worst performance of the year. Very embarrassing to watch. I'm getting sick of these inept performances from a team that may have some very good young players coming through but who are too often left to do all the work.
