The Hawks suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of a strong Casey Demons outfit and the season doesn't get any easier for the Hawks as they're back on the road with a trip to Preston to play the Blues.
The Northern Blues currently sit fifth on the ladder on percentage behind fourth-placed Footscray, so they will be keen to knock off the ladder leaders on their home pile to press their claims for the double chance. Additionally, the Blues were humiliated last weekend to the tune of 84 points at Punt Road Oval, losing to the Tigers 16.19.115 to 4.7.31, so they will be keen to bounce back and keep pace with the top four.
The Hawks still sit on top of the ladder, but chances are a loss against the Blues will drop them to second or third, depending on results elsewhere. The Hawks' percentage isn't all that flash hot, given where they sit on the ladder, so they will be keen to resume winning to keep the chasing pack at bay.
The Development Squad also travels to Preston City Oval to take on the Northern Blues reserves from 11am. Although the Box Hill Hawks development squad has played eight rounds, they are in danger of missing the finals for the first time in years, as they currently sit second bottom with three wins from eight games played. There's still time for the Hawks to turn around their season fortunes, but they need to start winning.
As usual, 3WBC 94.1FM will have live coverage of the seniors' game from 1pm. You can listen on the wireless at 94.1FM or you can stream coverage from www.3wbc.org.au or via the TuneIn app on your smart device. The Hawks will also provide regular score updates via its twitter channel at www.twitter.com/boxhillhawks
