IN: Buckley, Holland, Prestigiacomo, Walker
OUT: Tarrant (suspended)

B: Holland, Wakelin, J.Cloke
HB: Shaw, Clement, Cole
C: Woewodin, Buckley, Lockyer
HF: Didak, Rocca, Lonie
F: Johnson, C.Cloke, Fraser
FOLL: Richards, Burns, Licuria
I/C (from): Davis, Lokan, McGough, Maxwell, Prestigiacomo, Swan, Walker

Rocca is not out (yet), so I guess the forward line is not too bad given we also have Fraser and C.Cloke.
Buckley and Holland is also back into the midfield

Walker's ok. Not in our best 22, but our best 22 are unavailable. Obvious replacement for Rocca this week.

Will be a player, long term. Will eventually replace Wakelin at CHB.

Flex Tex in the forward line

Walker can not play Full Back, but can play as a loose tall backman like Cloke (as Tex did v Carlton).

Walker has to play more Ruck to allow Fraser stay down forward and give Richards a rest on either the flank or bench.

I personally like Walker to play in the forward line as he did v Sydney, Rnd 21, 2003. His presence was interesting and his help at Centre Bounces to Fraser really impressed me. He had 14 hitouts that game! (95 Ranking Points in my personal system)

As I've said before Rocca won't play, thats just my personal gut feeling. It's interesting to see that both Presti and Holland have been namend because I would think that Walker would come in if Rocca does not play. I also think that Presti will come in to allow Jason Cloke to play at CHF as promised by MM. I just think that J.Cloke may be a more versatile player then many have thought and that he may be ok there because if he wasn't then MM would not persist with him after the first few rounds this year and the grandfinal last year.

If Jason plays at Centre Half Forward he will have a blinder, Mick is so sure that he is a good player in that position. If he doesn't, the public won't think much of him and will then become an underrated defender again.

Walker has to play in Rocca's position IF he plays, remembering some players have to come out.

Walker is not a good forward. He has played two great games including one blistering game against Tassie at CHB. That is his ideal position I believe. I think he has too much athleticl talent to turn into a Presti-like defender no offence to Presti.

Hi Guys - first post on the Collingwood board.

I think with Pebbles likely to miss and the Pies midfield going well without Bucks - that Bucks will play at either FF or CHF.

I feel the Pies can match it with Melb in the midfield even without Bucks playing there but need to keep the pressure on them via the scoreboard.

A forward line of Bucks, Fraser, Didak, Tarkyn, & Leon will at least keep the Melb defenders on their toes and limit them taking risks running out of defence.

Cruicial matchups include:

Cole V Robertson
Clement V Bruce
Wakes V Neitz
Lonie V Green

Cheers

Just a general question. Why would one of the best midfielders in the league and during the past few years be used at FF, on a flank maybe but why on earth would he be at FF. There is a lot of players that would be better at FF before Buckley.

Good question. Even when he's old and washed up he will not be used as a forward very much. He will be a sweeper in defence. He's actually a pretty ordinary forward.

I wouldn't say that he is a ordianary forward but I can't see why one of the best Midfielders in the AFL would be deprived of playing in his prime possition. He hasn't really played forward much in the last few years. No point starting now.

Team balance. Its not about where Bucks plays best but whats best for the team. Just making the point that we need to kick enough goals to win and our forward line is an area that is weakened this week whilst our midfield has done okay without him. Need to think laterally when our best 2 forwards are out for the game.

Didn't hurt to have two of Collingwoods best midfileders in the forward line in 1990 - Daicos & Brown.

Cheers

Yeah thats a good point but i still prefer to have Buckley in the middle. We have Fraser and C.Cloke to go forward. And apperantly J.Cloke is also a forward.

"Apparently", lol.

J Cloke is a good Player, tough, his heart, that makes up for his disposal by foot. He should be played in defence because he knows that position well. True to try players in other positions but when u know cloke aint got a chance after heaps of turns up forward, really? Whats the use?

His kicking is Pretty Crap and that why if he was forward i could imagine his stats at the end of the year for goalkicking accuracy.

i just wanna ask a question guys

with presti out you use seem to use clement on the oppositions best and strongest/tallest full forward instead of wakelin

i think clement is a great player but dont u think that wakelin would have been a better choice to play on gerhig for example who was just 2 strong for clement

also how long till prestis back?

he normally plays well on neitz

He should be back tommorow but for some reason he is not included. He is definately in our best 22, i don't understand it. He always does very well on Neitz. It doesn't make sense to me.

How bout you Guys?

PS: His Injury is good to go.

I hink Buckley will do a Michael Voss. Play in the midfield and work in the forward line at 50-50. Voss has been successful. Need more goals out of him and Woewodin to keep Brownlow Form. Kick goals from Midfielder's considering Tarrant and Rocca won't be playing (or Full game).

Expect a couple out of Cam Cloke. He is flying (down the Eastern) at the moment.
