This is the biggest game of the season so far. I think we need to bring our absolutely best team against them to prove that WE are the team to beat.

Post your thoughts here.

If today is any indication we are not the team to beat.

Walters is single handedly carrying the forward line. Mayne/Ballas need to copy Walters and start kicking some goals!

Out: De Boer, Suban, Mayne

In: Gu, Crozier, Blakely

Today's team was as good as possible, if it can't beat Hawthorn make changes afterwards.
Agreed. I hate the people who think that we should send a B-Team to Tasmania to take them on. That's not a good thing to do whatsoever.

I'd maybe take out Sheridan for Mzungu, at most. That's about it.

Man I can't wait for this! Would love to see some confidence in front of goal from Ballas tho. He is looking lost.

It was really evident today just how much our new gamestyle doesn't reflect well on wet weather. Our workmen like qualities serve us better in the wet while our class dissipates.

Seen enough grunt from Clarke to think that he is ready for a big 2015 tilt. If it's gonna stay wet I'm not sure about Sherro. It's not his bag.

Suban was actually pretty good this game, hope there are no calls for him to be dropped!

Edit: that's awkward. Maybe I thought he had a better game than he really did.

Make one then :) This is for changes not a discussion of the game.

(Serious post).

There's no point in having two places where people discuss tactical changes for the upcoming game, unless the two threads are merged. It's always going to be hard to come up with a proper preview thread when this one comes up even before the last game is finished.

16 possessions, 9 tackles - he was serviceable.

One thing about Suban is the good things he does are often spectacular, such as a clutch goal, or a goal saving tackle. He's also a great wet weather footballer.

All that doesn't make up for his biggest weakness: a lack of consistency. Next week he will be the object of disdain again, 2 good games in a row is a real challenge for Suban, I hope he does play well but I have my doubts.

The mods can change my OP to make it a preview thread if they want. I've been doing this for ages and it seems to work fine.

If you want to keep doing it, it's fine, but at least start off your thread by putting yourself on the line and putting your proposed changes yourself rather than just starting the thread for the sake of it. It's just like throwing chum into the waters and waiting for sharks to circle.

We need one or two more hard, mature bodies for the Hawks. They'll bring a physical game and again we saw today that we don't respond well to physicality.

People say confusing things about suban... He's a great wet weather player... He was seviceable..

The two don't go together. If he was such a great wet weather player he would surely have been in our top ten players over the past five weeks. Instead he's been in our bottom three. Still think he's a 'great' wet weather player?

I disagree on the grounds of his defensive work today. That said we know where this road ends so let's agree to disagree and move shall we mate :)

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I post the thread every week (or most weeks) because I know that people will use it for the proper reasons.

I don't overly care if someone posts one instead of me.

Probably the more sensible posts on this board in a long time! Totally agree.

That being said though, Matt de Boer gave away too many frees today. Got caught HTB way too many times and I still really don't think he adds much to the team. I know it won't happen but my wishful thinking is maybe giving Weller a debut as a sub :P
