Can't see them playing three ruckman, Clarke , Sandi and griff. Don't think he'll make more than three changes, so Dawson back and Alex forward and maybe Weller for Fyfe.

Weller was a little underwhelming last Sunday. The young lad from Clontarf ,I can't remember his name showed him a clean pair of heals.
Connor was the best of the three and he must be the like for like as far as Fyfe goes.

Would have been a perfect opportunity to drop PearceD and give somebody else a chance to stake a claim. Obviously Ross is going to stick by him and let him burn us in the finals series again.
Totally agree dont know why he keep getting game. He is that kind of player that drop off when hills been tag or off by 5 %. What is the point.

The point is he gets a lot of ball and a lot of inside 50's. It doesn't seem to matter that he makes rushed and often bad decisions or that his kicking for goal is hit and miss or that the level of his mistakes go up in proportion to the importance of the situation.
I guess the match committee still see him as the best option for what he brings.
I love the guy but annoys the hell out of me.

Could not agree more - Connor looked ready to go and can play that inside midfielder role.

One thing for sure is that someone is making their debut Sunday because I don't think Z Clarke and Mzungu will get a look in just yet.

Taberner out is unfortunate but he really needs to clunk a few contested marks.

I'll give you some insight from my boys over here

Mcarthy not in is a massive mistake for them.

Devon smith out is huge

And one of their best defenders all year in Haynes out is massive

We may get the big win we have been craving

Injuries have now just tipped it finally over the line for the giants unfortunately
Phil Davis is a pretty massive in and Hoskin-Elliot is pretty handy.

Don't reckon RTB would be swayed much but with a bit of talk about Weller wanting to go home they might just think give him a run so either his value goes up or he wants to stay. Will allow deboer to the midfield.
Maybe be I'm just a cynic.

Wouldn't surprise me Ross does actually do that (3 rucks). He's said in the past that he would like to try it. That was when Griffin was fit and in good form and Clarke was, well, as he is now, up and down - so that was a while ago.

Perhaps he just wants to see if Clarke can do what Tabs does as an option ... not sure.

Seems strange to me to pull Tabs out myself and just as strange to name Clarke. Tabs could take a few more chances, but other than that, the fwd half seems to work better with him there and he doesn't do much wrong. Clarke on the other hand, in recent times, has been a non-factor fwd and pretty average in the ruck - his Peel game, from what I've heard (didn't watch it) has been nothing spectacular.

I'll be honest, I've always been a fan of Clarke and not so much of Tabbs, Ross must've seen some things against Tigers that did not make him happy.

Every week the match committee name three ruckman.
Every week people post
"Ohh Sandi will be a late out" and it never happens and they play two rucks.

I think Dawson comes in and Pearce may get an opportunity depending on match ups to get a run up forward.

I am the other way round Fan of tab not so on clarke.

What I don't understand about the Taberner fans in here is what is he doing that's good? Why does he not utilize his running power often enough (like he did against Brisbane a year ago)? He does not present as a marking option consistently in the game and that is supposed to be his strength! GET ON YOUR BIKE TABS!

You'd think so.

IF he does try Clarke as a full time 2nd tall in place of Tabs, it will be an interesting move. It's not necessarily going to happen of course, it could simply be Clarke in for 211 or Griff or no Clarke at all and he plays slightly smaller fwrd half - I think that is the likely outcome actually, just hasn't been RTB first option this year so far.

Quite a few changes, hopefully not even more on Game Day. Still have to respect the opposition.
Was hoping Taberner would play, a great chance to get a few goals and compete.

I don't think that's a real sentence, but I agree
I think my fingers were moving faster than my brain.

I think his achillies is giving him issues.

The difference is that Tabs has been cut, that's got me thinking anyway - but yeah, otherwise it's been a standard practice to name a 3rd ruck and generally not play them.

How about Clarke as a forward compared to Tabs as a forward?

In all honesty got no idea who would be better, maybe find out this weekend, could be that Ross wants a look as well. I think Clarke was not going as bad as most on here, but both at times could be a bitter harder at the contest IMO but it's easy from my lounge room. Could Griiff be the surprise ff going into the finals , he certainly tough and Clarke forward ruc.
It would go against what I said earlier about playing three rucks.
