Round 23 bye

Not sure if this is worth it's own thread.
But I was thinking over a beer, watching the fire last night:

If the results of ASADA investigation come out in August, it should be just in time for our last round clash against Essendon.
If half of their players are banned from playing, we could effectively have a bye going into the finals.

This would infuriate the AFL, because if one thing is for sure, we are not a favoured club and the AFL hierarchy would be furious to see us get any sort of advantage.
Would be piss funny to see the steam coming out of Vlads ears as the Tigers go into the finals, the only club to have the bye in round 23.

Worst case scenario, I'd imagine, is there are those 10 or so bombers players suspended, and we play a second string opposition. Not sure it'd be the best hit out leading into a pressure finals game, to be honest.

Correct! The AFL will not ban anyone. They've shown time and time again that they'll happily sell their soul in the name of profit. They have an amazing ability to maintain a poker face while obviously being "loose with the truth". It's all about the annual executive bonus.
But lets not forget folks, "it's for the good of the game".

I can't believe people honestly hold this view. Now yes the AFL doesn't give us added benefits that some other clubs get, but do you honestly believe that up in HQ Vlad and the others sit there plotting Richmond's downfall? They couldn't give 2 shits that we get a bye going into finals as opposed to any other club.

The players will get an infraction notice meaning the can't play while they fight the charges so they will be without several players on would think, In the very least Jobe will miss!
